What’s a NASCAR Race on TV Worth To You?

How Much Would You Pay to Watch a NASCAR race on TV?

Suppose that NASCAR decides to put all the races on a premium paid TV network like NASCAR Network. The races would no longer be free, but you would get commercial-free race coverage.

You would never come back from a commercial to find that a caution was out — and your favorite driver was wrecked.

You’d also get a few extra premium services like in-car audio and driver to crew chatter.

When the races weren’t on you could get NASCAR news 24/7.

How much would you pay to watch NASCAR?

$5 per month?

$20 per month?

Or would you just forget the whole thing and watch bowling instead?

Yeah, I’ll watch fishing or go to speed and watch drag racing. Might be some classic Wrestling on who knows!! Woo! Woo again!!

  4. Nascar fans shouldn’t have to pay to watch it on tv. They pay enough going to races.

  6. IT WOULD BE GOOD,THAT WAY I WOULD FOR SURE GET UP OFF MY BUTT AND DO SOMETHING OTHER THAN WASTE MY TIME WATCHING DUMB ADDS AND A 40 LAP RACE. GO TO PAY TV AND HANG IT UP FOR SURE. NASCAR ,ONLY FOR THE MONEY, NEED MONEY, PAY THE DRIVERS LESS AND LOWER THE GATE PRICES. FILL THE STANDS UP. YOU KNOW GM HAS PRICED THERESELF OUT. WAKE UP

  8. It would be worth a few bucks a month just to miss all the commercials.

  10. NASCAR is doing well now without me paying to watch races on TV. I remember the day Ken Squier got the race covered flag to flag by CBS. in fact I was at that rece in 1979. So, I guess I wouldn’t be willing to pay to watch a race. Uh uh. Nope. Pass this on to Brian France.

  12. It wouldn’t be fair to those who couldn’t afford to pay per veiw like me, and they would probably lose a lot of fans for doing so. They shouldn’t even think about that. It just wouldn’t be fair.

  16. GOT CHANGE FOR A QUARTER? I WOULD NOT PAY TO WATCH A AUNT EAT A BAIL OF HAY. I PAY ENOUGH TO WATCH TV NOW.

  18. First of all some people can’t afford it. The monthly fees for regular TV is already outrageous and the Government is already forcing everyone to go digital, which will make the fees more outrageous. Disabled people and senior citizens wouldn’t be able to afford it and a lot of these people look to NASCAR for entertainment. Also, does that mean all other sports, (i.e. football, baseball, basketball, golfing, etc. would be pay per view?) What about the other car races? It would only seem fair. Forget it – - I would find something else to watch. I would get the results from the evening news.

  20. My husband & I are retired, but we are avid NASCAR fans & we get so sick of all the commercials & all the good racing that we miss that even on a very fixed income, we would support paying an extra $5 -$10 per month. We went to HD before we had to just to view the races better & put in a home theatre for better sound. We, however, don’t drink, smoke, or gamble or do wild things with our money. We plan all our expenditures so we can afford the things that matter to us in life! We LOVE NASCAR and so many of the great drivers. I subscribe to the scanner now, so that would drop. I do realize that it would probably lose a lot of people who legetimately cannot afford the additional cost. However, most of the whiners could afford it if they dropped just one other something they waste money on. I don’t want to lose NASCAR on TV. So vote me in!I am sorry for those who don’t love the sport enough to sacrifice a little at least through the hard times the auto industry is suffering & can’t give the big bucks to help out!

  22. I volunteer or get books to read instead of watching NASCAR. It isn’t the
high class sport that it was two years ago and before. I found a lot of things to do in
the past two years and haven’t been glued
on Saturday or Sunday to three or four hours of
racing. We use to have ten or fourteen people
(couples) who would meet, enjoy the races.
and go to at least one a year. During the
past two seasons we’ve volunteered, put pools
in, gone fishing and improved our back yards.
Haven’t missed NASCAR and we were true blue
loyal fans. NASCAR use to be a sport of skill
now it’s one of who can trash who. I hope
that Jimmy Johnson, Dale Jr, Mark Martin and
Jeff Gordon retire before one of the obnoxious
new nuts hurts them They have class and upheld
    the old time NASCAR.

  24. I have enough trouble paying my cable bill. I don’t watch the pay per views. Too expensive. If I have to pay to watch races, I’ll find a movie on tv to watch or play on the computer. No thanks NASCAR.

  25. Joe on
  26. Well, I don’t have cable now, so already I miss half the races (ESPN, SPEED,etc.), and not really thrilled when it passed from FOX midway thru the season to the ABC team, so I wouldn’t be missing much!

(Why the diversions, anyhow? PLEASE LET FOX DO THE ENTIRE SEASON!)

  32. Nascar doesn’t need to charge for watching a race. You already pay enough to get into a race. If you have brighthouse you get to watch a good race. I have had satelite before and if it is raining in your area you are not watchin the race anyway! Aren’t AMERICANS losing enough right now without having to pay to watch 1 of the best sports in the WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!

  48. Notta! There would be more family time. I don’t get the premium channels now and I certainly would not get them to watch Nascar or any thing else. You Nascar chiefs need to wake up…..what do you think…the folks watching the races are in the money like you guys are. Why do you think we are watching the races in the first place. Heck, we can’t afford to get out of town to see the races any more. It used to be a southern sport but now it’s running after the dollars and trying to run around the world. Shoot, get a life, man…

nascar should pay the fans to watch last few races weren’t all that great.

  50. I use to go to the races at least 4 or 5 times per year but not any more. GAS IS TO HIGH and TICKET PRICES ARE TO HIGH. Pay to watch it on TV – Forget it……….no way……Never….
When price of tickets go down and gas also-then maybe I will start going to them. Also I use to be glued to TV Race Day……not any more. The pass 2 years they have been horrible. Busch Bros. Suck! I am a JR. Fan and buy quite a bit of his things and always for Christmas, BD and etc. that is what I ask for. So I contribute to NASCAR in my own way. I really miss the good ole days and local dirt race track is more fun to watch that Trucks, Nationwide & Sprint Cars. It is so boring…..

NO WAY NASCAR IS JUST GETTING A FEEL FOR WHAT THEY MIGHT WANT TO DO LATER. TALK ABOUT NOT FILLING THE SEATS!!!!!!!! PUT IT ON PAY FOR VIEW AND YOU LOSE A LOT OF GOOD FANS, NOT ONLY AT HOME BUT AT THE TRACKS DON’T LIKE THE IDEA AT ALL

  53. Chris on
  54. This is so funny! You really WANT to lose fans, don’t you? Nascar cannot fill the stands now and now you are going to take it away on TV. That is cutting your throat a lot isn’t it? First you want to overcharge for tickets, then the Hotels OVERPRICE their rates, Then, you want to charge for Nascar on TV! You even overcharge for food and drinks when you get there and T-Shirts, hats and other stuff! You are ALL crazy if you think anyone would PAY to watch Nascar! Just for the record the answer is HELL NO!

  55. Bob on
  56. Nascar would die faster than it is now. We pay way too much for many channels we never watch now. They have priced themselves beyond the reach of the fans as it is.

  60. Hey! Hold it!

Harry and Jim are right on.

Look up NASCAR in the dictionary and you will see
    GREED!!!

Start with drivers. Paid far too much money.
    Sponsors pay the big bucks.
The interview on Larry King with Carl Edwards, Edwards admitted he made a ‘good living in NASCAR.”Not very old to have what he has,eh?
Doesn’t take long before they are buying homes on lake norman and how many have planes?

Brooke Gordon received a FORTUNE when her and Jeff divorced. He certainly was fairly young, don’t you think to have those kind of assets and she got her rightly half. Now Brooke too is a millionare x’s 2? 3?

Look at Sr. What he left to Teresa. She got 51% and RUINED what her husband had worked so hard for! Do you think he would be pleased with how she’s treated his kids – and lost his life of work for a sport he loved!!! Where and how is she ever going to spend all her MILLIONS AND MILLIONS.

Want to see Childress or Michael Waltrips whole organization. Then pay your $12.00. Tours are NOT FREE.

They are always advertising for ‘seats still available for $25.00′. Ever try this and figure out where you would be sitting.

We stopped going to the tracks. I did go the the Tal in Alabama in 1995 and still remember to roarrrrrrrrrrr. Wonderful.
I’ll never forget going to Lowe’s when it was still Winston. A glass of water in a small styrome cup was $1.00. Ice chips $2.00 A package of Winston’s – only $3.00.

This all just makes me irrate!!!
France Sr., has rolled over in his grave so many times after what his son did and his grandson is doing now. They’ve ruined what Sr. did. For what? MONEY!!!!
    Back to the dictionary, eh?

How about Waltrip and DIGGER!!! Check out their site and prices! And NASCAR is letting them promote DIGGER on TV!!!!Outrageous!!!

I know this is lengthy but I truly hope it gets printed.

  74. 5.00 per race or 5.00 per month Maybe but only if they get rid of that stupid digger. That is an insult if you think that is entertaining. NASCAR has priced the family fun out. Can’t take family at that price. In fact its all getting dull. We used to go to many races in our motorhome but now we only go two. They are getting greedy and with the COT and the penalties always on JR its not fun

  76. If seats arenot being bought now, what makes them think that charging to see a race is a good idea. Not in my lifetime. I can’t go to a race now. I have only been to a handful. If they charge for the race, there will be alot more seats empty and fewer viewers seeing it too! This idea is not a good one, Not a good one at all!

  78. Hey you all. Thanks a bunch for the positive comments.

My daughter lives in Mooresville. Moved there 8 years ago to be in racing because had been a fan all my life and raised her in racing.

She worked for a couple race teams, and you know I won’t mention who, but there’s some interesting events with race teams.

Just talked to her the other night and got some more ‘low down’ on what’s happening.

Her previous neighbour work’s for NASCAR and when we were in N.C. last year we chatted about Sr. He maintains he had a heart attack.
Now put what he said with the Sr. rule in Florida that his autopsy can never be revealed and what do you come up with????? Remember when Sr. blacked out on the pace lap?

I call it all a damn shame.

Mayfield. What a piece of work. Remember when Tim Richmond was suspended and never came back. I ask how come Petty’s Headache Powder has never been banned!!!!

Any how you all made me feel so welcome that I am going to come back.

We’ll all be watching the Challenge at Lowes right. Let’s pass some patience around to each other. And please give my husband a triple dose! He is so quiet, really, but I have to listen to him and he even cusse’s. Never does any other time. His big beef ‘depree on the track’. When there really is and the camera shows it I sure get in his face.
Check this out. Count. The last time I did it was 8 commercials – every break.
Their per centage for coming back “And there’s a caution on the track” is about 80%, if not more.
Now those gentlemen on the radio really know how to call a race. Sometimes in the summer we sit outside for the race and leave the tv on for action….then run like…into the house.
I’m going to have water with ice chips while I watch. lol

Check out the empty seats when the camera swings around. Look quick because they are ‘not to show empty seats’ if you are a camera operator
You all have a great night.

And again. Thanks a whole bunch for the welcome.

You made me feel so welcome that I will be back more often and I’ll give you some ‘insights’ without using names

See you at Lowe’s tomorrow night for the truck race. Oh I goofed. The challenge is Saturday.
I don’t have a life lol so I get my days mixed up…and I’m a night hawk…sun comes up then I go to bed.

This might not be good for you all. Notice I never quit! Just keep ramblin’.

    Going out roaringgggggggggggggggggg

  80. I’d probably just go to the local races and watch drag races and Speed channel. Its not my fault people can’t afford to go to the over priced events now. Charge the vendors who go to each race a little more for setting up and making their fortune(s) off of the fans. I love NASCAR, but don’t think this is for me. Cable rates are already to darned HIGH.

Hell, I gave up cigarettes so I could afford to get new Jr stuff when he changed teams. That’s ok, it was my choice. I’ve been a fan of Nascar for a long time but I find I am losing interest more all the time. Pay to watch Nascar on TV, no I think not! I have Trackpass Raceview from Nascar.com. Yes, I have to pay for it but I would rather pay for Raceview than pay to watch the race on TV. Even now I realize I am watching more of the race on my computer monitor rather than the TV. And guess what, Raceview doesn’t have all those damn commercials! I know what’s happening on the race track from the beginning to the end of the race!

  94. I would be happy to pay up to 20 bucks a month to watch the race. My direct tv premium channels package costs $36 and dropping that would actually save me money and yes I am a retiree on a fixed income. With the price of a movie at $7 and gas creeping back up to $3+, paying $20 or less to watch commercial-free races doesn’t seem like a lot. I wonder how many of you out there who would not pay for watching the races because they could not afford it are smokers? Now there is an expensive habit.

  100. In 2007, DIRECTV came out with NASCAR HOTPASS, 5 channels dedicated to individual drivers each week. With split screen, 3 as I remember, and the ability to switch the audio from network broadcast channel to individual driver announcer to the team radio. When a commercial came on, it was shown on the network window but you could at least watch the driver window and listen to his team radio. Always knew what was going on. I think it cost $90 for the year – not bad when you divide that by the number of races. It was pretty much the same in 2008, but this year it is “free” to subscribers, down to 4 driver channels and you get sound from the netword ALL the time along with the crew communication. At times very confusing. Good thing it is free! At least you are able to tell if there is a caution during the commercial breaks. I much prefered paying the $90 and I am retired and don’t have much entertainment money but it was well worth it. Maybe DIRECTV didn’t get enough subscribers to make it worthwhile as they did have to pay several announcers to cover each driver. Really hate it that it changed.

To all those people that are still watching the commercial. Please invest in a TVO. You can watch a 5 hour race in about 2 hours or less. That is if you don’t listen to the Waltrip talk about the Bush brothers.

  108. I haven’t been to any Nascar races in the last 8 years because I can afford to pay the high cost of going to a race. The only thing I have left to see a Nascar race is to watch it on tv. But if we have to pay, then I guess NASCAR will lose me as a fan. There are a lot of people that can’t afford some of the luxury that we had in the past. So if NASCAR move to Pay Per View,
then only the rich will be able to continue to watch.

I thought this was for the crouds to enjoy watching on tv, because they can’t make it to see them live. I myself is handycapped and find it very hard to go anywhere in a wheel chair, so if you are going to take this from the people, then I will not be watching the races anymore. Tell me this, if you do charge to watch it on tv, will the tickets to go see them, going to be reduced?

  118. Racing used to be the good old sport. It’s not a sport anymore, it’s a business. You can’t see a driver being interviewed without him taking a drink of Pepsi, Coke, or some energy drink first. I realize sponsors are a part of racing, but enough is enough. Costs are too high, and that is Nascar’s fault. It’s just like all the other sports, overpaid primadonnas! The sport died when the last generation of drivers retired or passed on: Earnhardt, Wallace, Bonnett, Terry Labonte, the Allisons etc. No, I won’t pay to watch!

just the basic and basic plus and no premium channels. Just have to switch to the fishing channel and starting fishing again. NO WAY I AM PAYING FOR NASCAR ON A PAY CHANNEL

  125. Ria on
  126. Because of what NASCAR has become I think I can spend my money elsewhere. I agree with a previous poster when Dale Sr died so did NASCAR. It is now “CONTROL” and the money. It is no longer FUN to watch, most of the time it is soooo boring. I do not think Brian France cares about racing, to him it is money and ego.

Actually I already pay to watch NASCAR races on tv. every month thru my cable company. So why would I pay more to watch them on pay-per-view.If I didn’t have cable I’d only be able to watch the races on Fox and ABC.So NO to paying extra to watch my races.

  127. Penny on
  128. Narcar has already said they have no intention on making anyone pay to watch races. This question was every ridiculous. This is an old subject and Nascar has already answered it. I do agree that the racing with the COT car has made the races not as much fun as they used to. They could have put the same safety features in the old car and then racing would still be exciting. I will not quit watching the races but something needs to be changed. But folks Nascar has no intention of making anyone pay to watch the races. Like I said Nascar has already settled this question and why it was brought up again is crazy. Go Jr.

  129. Maureen on
  130. I can assure you 100% that if NASCAR does this it may very well be the end of NASCAR. Remember, when you lose people and go back it’s never the same because they find other revenues. Personally, I am wild about NASCAR and go to many races from time to time; but, if they charge separately, I am forget NASCAR and travel. NO, I DEFINITELY WILL NOT PAY TO WATCH NASCAR. Ready for this? I don’t even have cable now because it’s too expensive! Sorry to hear NASCAR may disolve because I love it so much. When NASCAR is on “speed” I watch my DVD movies. Will be retiring soon and seriously thinking about getting cable, but no extras PLEASE! Getting cable only because I love NASCAR so much.

  131. Jimmy on
  132. GREED!!!!! is going to be the down fall to NASCAR. I will not pay to watch week after week.

  133. Kelley on
  134. I would probably end up paying to watch because I am a NASCAR addict. And lets face it, on network TV you get 2 1/2 hours of commercials and 45 minutes of racing. I DVR most of the races because I work on Sundays. A 3 1/2 hour race takes me about an hour or a little more to watch once I fast forward through the commercials. If I do watch a race “live”, I let it get through about 30 or 45 minutes recorded so that I can FF and get to “live” somewhere near the middle of the race. I watched Darlington live and it made me crazy in about 30 minutes, so I paused, got up and did a few things around the house, then came back and FF’d through the commercials until I caught up. HOWEVER, I think it all comes down to the fact that NASCAR has gone the way of all other sports. The purses and salaries have outdone themselves, making it more and more difficult to keep ticket prices reasonable. With the economy, people are having to decide what is most important to them, food and house payment or entertainment. Just like football players who make 50 million in a couple/three years aren’t worth the money, drivers should be willing to sacrifice the ridiculous winnings payouts they are getting to keep prices down. Giving away a few tickets like Denny Hamlin did is nice, but only helps a few people out of millions of fans.

  136. I must continue……..when NASCAR is on cable, I go to someone home and we usually party. Because of this I hate night races. Charging will be a catastrophy. However, I will pay $5 more a month. My NASCAR habit drives my friends crazy……..they will love it when you start charging because I will be free. All I can say is…………GOD BLESS NASCAR!!!

NO,,,,,, I said this a long time ago & I meant it. I will not pay to see Nascar, just like I won’t pay to watch any other sport because they get paid plenty to participate, let them earn there way or get out of the game altogether.

  138. I am already paying to watch the Nascar Races with satellite (dish), don’t think I would want to increase my bill since I already pay $148. per month. I love to watch the races, just can’t afford another increase. Sunday afternoons sure would be BORING if we had to pay extra.

  144. It would be a good thing for local short tracks, fans would go to those races, instead of sitting at home paying to watch cup races. TV ratings would drop, car sponsors would stop spending big bucks because no one is there to watch and by their product.END of NASCAR as we know it.GREED is a terrible thing.

  146. I already pay for Hot Pass which I will cancel after this year because they have screwed it up and taken some good features away. I would be willing to pay up to $150 per season to watch it. I paid for the NFL package for 5 years but shut it off because they raised the price to the point it wasn’t worth it. The idea of no commericals is great. If you were on your driver channel and team raido with hot pass you buy passed the auido for the commerical but now you can’t. That sucks!

  148. I attended my only Nascar race in 2005 Daytona 500. Upon arrival at the track we had to park in a farm field. The walk to get on the bus was terrible as I have arthritis in both legs and back. Had to stop 6 times before getting to the bus. Get off the bus and walk some more to get to the gate. To make a long story short by the time I walked the stairs to get to my seat I was in complete tears. Not a very fun way to watch a race. I probably would go to another race if Nascar had some kind of mobile transport to get around. Can’t get a scooter up the stairs and could not afford to sit in the front stretch as the tickets were out of my price range. As for watching on Pay-Per-View I don’t think so. I wouldn’t even pay a nickel a race. I might pay $5.00 for the season if they would put in track-pass also. Nothing has been the same with me since I lost my Sunday Hero (BIG E) when he passed away I couldn’t eat or sleep for 3 days. I guess everyone felt the same as me. Now only if Little E could get his act together it might get some interest back in Nascar, not this pay to see B.S. Thanks for letting me vent.

  150. PAY to see the camera stay focused on Kyle Busch’s car lap after lap after lap? PAY to listen to Darrell Waltrip run off at the mouth? NO! NO! NO!

NO WAY. A great sport has become boring as hell. Hours of watching commercials to see Bush win !!!!!! FORGET IT.

I have to agree !!!! The economy is bad enough and getting worse by the day. How can people who are without jobs pay for a TV program they enjoy now. Cable companies are making enough money each month without adding to the expense of a pay-per-view program. Even the $5.00 to $20.00 adds up at the end of the year to $60.00 to $240.00. I’m sure we all can pay another electric or heating bill with that.
I love my NASCAR and watch every race, so please don’t try to put an extra burden on me !!!!!

  158. No I will not pay to watch racing on tv like so many other fans I already pay an out ragous price for satelite I do noy feel it is right to have to pay even more to watch the best sport on free tv now. Me and my wife go to several races a year and if you start making us pay to watch it on tv I guess we’ll just stop going to or watching any races. I think NASCAR for loering the prices of tickets at most of the tracks due to the economy I think they need to keep the prices low so more people could come to the races there is no better way to watch a race then live you don’t have to watch any commercials and there are big close circuit tv around tne track you can watch replays of any wrecks you may have missed. But I can not afford to go to every race. So please don,t take racing away from us on tv. Unlike others that have made the statement that the drivers make too much money I do not feel that way, even though the cars are the safest they have evre been they still put their lives on the line every race to entertain us each week, and yes I know they choose this sport and no one forces them to race. What I;m saying is no way will I pay to watch racing on tv. If you go this route you (nascar) will lose most of their fans.

  159. Lynn on
  160. We already pay to watch TV!! I have to pay extra for the extended basic package in order to get the SPEED & ESPN2 channels. FYI to Keith – SPEED does not usually have any drag racing. NHRA (My absolute favorite sport!) drags are only on ESPN2 and some older NHRA events are shown on ESPNC but that costs even more than EB with my cable company. I, personally, do not ever bother to go to the trouble of using PPV even when there is something on that I like that someone I know is in. And, as long as the Bush brats are racing, I can’t stand to watch the entire race. NASCAR has messed up the website and now are thinking of messing up with the broadcasting?? I used to buy lots of shirts & stuff for my favorite drivers but in the last couple years, there have been so many changes, it’s hard to keep track to even know what to buy so I’ve hardly bought anything. But, even the manufacturers can’t keep up. Some of last year’s Tony Stewart calendars had him with the Chevy when he was really racing a Toyota. And, I think this year, his calendars still showed the 20 car when he is racing the 14. NO, NO, NO, I would not pay extra or take extra time to program PPV to watch NASCAR. I assume that if NASCAR went to PPV, it would rerun on SPEED so I would wait to watch it then. Otherwise, I might have to just live without it…

  161. Jean on

  164. NO, absolutely NOT. I DON’T WATCH IT NOW AND I CERTAINLY WOULDN’T WATCH THEN. NASCAR NEEDS TO GO GREEN. THE CAR OF TOMORROW IS NOT THE CAR OF TOMORROW, THEY NEED TO CHANGE THE NAME. THE CAR OF TOMORROW WOULD BE ELECTRIC AND GM HAD IT PERFECTED AND HONDA AND TOYOTA SQUEALED LIKE BABY PIGS, SO GM (THE CEO)PICKED UP ALL THE CARS AND THEY SCRAPED THEM. EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE THE DOCU ON ELECTRIC CARS. GM ACTUALLY WENT TO THE DEALERS AND SENT CAR HAULERS TO PICK THEM UP. TOM HANKS, WHICH EVERYONE KNOWS, HE BOUGHT ONE AND HAD TO GIVE IT UP, ALL BECAUSE THE OIL COMPANIES DIDN’T WANT IT TO HAPPEN. OUR YOUNG FOLKS ARE ALREADY THINKING GREEN AND THAT’S WHY NASCAR CAN’T DEAL WITH THEM. SO NASCAR GET OFF YOUR A DOUBLE SCRIBBLE AND REINVENT THE RACES.GRAMMY67

  166. Not sure if I would pay to watch or not. By the time they charge you “taxes” and fees on top of the monthly charge, you are paying more. Sprint has not been very interesting lately. Seems like all they want to do is fine, suspend, or put someone on probation to make a example out of them. Just let them race like they used to. Commercial free might be nice but I do things during those commercials. Just not sure.

  208. Paying now, can’t see the whole year of racing without the pay channels on satellite dish. So if it would come down to pay for view, guess I would have to get into baseball, do the drag race thang or get more into my new endeavor of moto cross. Cutting back on my normal 4 to 5 races a year except for Dover. Seems that’s the only real action race but racing is starting to get boring. Only action coming near the end of the race.

  209. Tank on
  210. Something else NASCAR should consider. You know you can run a horse to death and I think that Earnhardt has been run to death, daddy and son. There are more racers than Jr., Jeff G., Smoke and Jimmy J. And more CAR makes too. I think Jr. should be sidelined from all the commercials. He can’t drive, won’t drive, can’t communicate the troubles with the car. May Jr. needs to get a speech pathologist to help him better communicate, oh, he’s talking to his’ cousin so that’s not it, so maybe he needs a psychologist to aid him in focus! Whatever, a lot of people I know are pulling away from Cup because they are tired of seeing Jr. all the time. I even think the fan base is getting sick of him too as all FANS want a winner sometimes and not one that NASCAR sets up for a win like passing the pace car last year and only getting a slap on the hand and not put to the end of the longest line.

  211. Dave L on
  212. If this happens that will be the last straw no more na$car for me.

  213. Nytro on
  214. Not me, pay to see a race? Glad when Fox quits hosting races, won’t need the mute button at the start of a race to hear the same tired ” Pull belts-dumb call for the race.” If they do charge they will need real good people to call the race and not push stuff for some rat in a hole on the track. Seems like they interrupt the commercials to show pit stops for cautions that we only see replays of. We get less race coverage and more commercials. Cost to attend a race are too expensive for parking, logging, food, souvenirs and tickets. They are turning their back on the fan base that got them to where they are now and now turn attention to making more money at our expense.

  215. Shannon on
  216. People already pay an arm and a leg to watch a race sitting at home as it is, because cable or satt tv prices have gone thru the roof…I think that if Nascar starts charging to watch the races on tv they will lose alot of money and alot of fans. I am a huge nascar fan, I watch faithfully, each and every race, BUT I will not pay to watch the races. We don’t pay to watch each and every football or baseball or basketball game so why pay for nascar… I have been to races at Talladega and the prices for stuff was unreal! I think that they already make enough money without charging to watch on tv…

There goes the DVR and the package that I need for Nascar & race’s, cut my bill down to $34.00 a month from $72.50 a month, from $870 a year to $408 a year. There is more important things in life than just Nascar. Let the owner’s and drivers take a cut in pay, like the all star race one million dollars to win. Do any of those drivers really need that much? ALL of us need to stop NASCAR if they try this! WTG Nascar .. sure hope the TV package allowing Fox to rip up the old Speed channel and now begin to put more and more races onto their premium channels. I am so surprised the major sponsors that give millions of dollars for sponsorship are overjoyed to see their dollars of advertising money keep paying for smaller and smaller audiences. If you do not think the tv on premium channels is not creating the empty seats at the tracks you are sooooooooooooo wrong. I am man in sixties that has followed nascar since the late 1950′s thumbing every sports page searching for any little write up on the races and now, with the rest of the US out money grabbing at every thing they do seeing Nascar join right in is NOT surprising, they may as well get in on the screw the loyal viewer as anyone else. Obviosly time to box up 50 years of memorabilia and find another venue follow as Nascar has about run its string out. It was good seeing the old races with Dale and Rusty and Bill and Cale all “Rubbing” there way to the wins. Now we just see a bunch of boilerplate cars running around and Nascar trying to get all the drivers to sound like choir boys. There were good days Nascar, but now, somewhat glad to see the races go to premium channels so some of the die hard fans will not have to see it all crumble apart. Roll over in your grave daddy France, Jr finally got every nickel out of the fans, but, at what cost.
