Next 3 Wins Big for Jeff Gordon
Next 3 Wins are Monumental for Jeff Gordon
Jeff Gordon has already passed Dale Earnhardt on NASCAR’s All Time Win List.
If Gordon wins 3 more NASCAR Sprint Cup races they will be the biggest wins of his career.
6th on All Time List
Right now Jeff Gordon has 82 wins in his NASCAR Cup career putting him at sixth on the NASCAR winner’s list for all time.
With one more victory Gordon would tie Cale Yarborough for fifth place on that list.
With two more victories Gordon would surpass Yarborough and move into a 3 way tie for third place with Bobby Allison and Darrell Waltrip.
This record is not without controversy though. Bobby Allison claims he has 85 victories, but the Official NASCAR record shows him with 84.
With three more victories Gordon would surpass Allison and Waltrip to stand alone behind Richard Petty and David Pearson as the third most winning driver in NASCAR history.
Richard Petty has 200 wins. David Pearson has 105. Jeff Gordon will never win 200 races, but David Pearson’s record of 105 is not out of reach if Gordon wants it bad enough.
Can Jeff Gordon Win That Many More Times?
Jeff Gordon would need 24 more victories to pass David Pearson. If he races for 7 more years and wins 3 to 4 races a year he can get there. But will Gordon race that long, and can he continue to win?

HE MIGHT WIN 5 MORE THIS YEAR
[Reply]
I hope he wins every race the rest of this season! And next! I really LOVE Jeff!

GO JEFF, GET-UR-DONE

I really think Jeff Gorden is one of the best drivers on the circuit. I hope he is on a comeback trail that will net him the championship this year. Hard to find a more technical savvy driver in the field.

I don’t want to throw a wrench into this subject, but I would like other’s perspectives on the question. How did Petty achieve 200 wins? Did he race more years? Were there more races every year so that it gave him more opportunities? Or was there a vast difference in different teams equipment? I know that right now they try and make it even across the board so that no one had an unfair advantage, but my question is, if you break it down into races and wins, what was his winning percentage compared to some of the greats like Dale, Jeff etc. Answer if you can. Thanks.

RACING TODAY IS NOTHING LIKE THE PETTY DAYS, NO WAY WOULD THOSE GUYS COMPEAT IN TODAYS RACING AS NASCAR HAS IT NOW. THEY WOULD BE BLACK FLAGED AND BARRED FROM RACING. WAS A LOT FOR THE FANS TO WATCH THEN, NOT JUST LEFT TURN, LEFT TURN, BORRING RACING.YOU CAN’T COPARE RACING WINS TODAY TO BACK THEN. I HAVE WATCHED RACING FOR OVER 50 YEARS. LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE IN THIS WORLD TODAY. JUST LOOK AT THE PLANES ,BOATS, YOU NAME IT. IT TAKES YOUNG GUYS WITH MORE NERVE THAN SINCE IN TODAYS RACING. LIKE MARTIN, BE CAREFUL AND STAY IN THERE FOR THE FINISH, THATS THE OLDER DRIVERS WAY. NO DRIVER CAN TOP GORDON, NOT THEN OR NOW, THAT INCLUDES E.SR.,D.W., AND THE REST OF THE OLD DRIVERS OF YESERDAY. H.K.

I think it’s time to stop watcking NASCAR AND DO MORE THINGS OUTSIDE THE HOUSE.
None of the races this year showed me any reason to watch.Bristol rase way is for looser.
I don’t like K Bush, buthe will give you a race to watch, that’s better thanhavingLittleE crying when he is to scared to drive, like,BAD GAS,BAD TIRES,BAD SCOCKS,WHAT WILL IT BE THIS wEEK? I WOuld love to see jrandk kYLE RACE ONE ON ONE AND SEE HOW DAD jR WALKED HOME WILL HIS HEAD DOWN.
[Reply]
Then, Ron, why don’t you go fishing or work in the yard? It’s not mandatory you watch the race. I just hate to see you get so upset! Are you sure you and Kyle aren’t related??? Sniff sniff.
[Reply]
No doubt he will make it, hes the best one out there!

I thik that Jeff has a chance to get his 4th championship this year the whole team is fired up.And Earnhardt Jr just needs to practice on pitting because that is where the race is wonor lost.He has the best equipment that money can buy ,he will get a win this year I do believe .
Have A Wonderful Thursday

I sure think he can, too! I hope so! He’s getting off to a great start! AND, it is SOOO nice to see no Jeff haters on here – this comment might bring them out, though! Whether he wins or loses, he still maintains his “classiness” – always giving compliments to other drivers. He’s gone through some real depressing times the past year or so, but I know the old Jeff Gordon can still do it!!!

GO,JEFF! EVEN THOUGH I AM A BIG EARNHARDT FAN AND JIMMIE JOHNSON. I BELIEVE JIMMIE PROBABLY DID CONGRATULATE JEFF, BECAUSE HE IS A RESPECTFUL PERSON AND JEFF OWNS HIS CAR. IN CASE YOU FORGET THEY HAD SOME WORDS WHEN HE PASSED JEFF THAT TIME AND WON, BUT THEY BOTH CONGRATULATED EACH OTHER. I DON’T THINK THEY HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING IN FRONT OF THE CAMARA. AFTER A RACE, YOU KNOW THEY ARE SWAMPED BY THE PRESS FOR QUESTIONS AND ANSWERES, GIVE THEM A BREAK.I FEEL VERY CONFIDENT THEY BOTH HAD SOMETHING TO SAY TO EACH OTHER WHEN TIME ALLOWED, INCLUDING JR. JR’S MAIN PROBLEM IS EURY, JR, HE NEEDS TO TELL JR BEFORE HE PASSED PIT ROAD TO COME IN, THEY BOTH NEED TO PRACTICE ON SOME TRACK ABOUT PITTING AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO VIDEO THE THING SO THEY CAN SEE WHERE THEY ARE BOTH COMING FROM. I ALSO FEEL EURY,JR NEEDS TO TALK TO KNAUS AND MAYBE, JUST MAYBE,HE CAN HELP HIM, BUT WHEN YOUR HEAD IS BIGGER AND YOU CAN’T SWALLOW SOME PRIDE TO ASK THAT’S WHAT YOU GET. THEY ARE NOT WORKING AS A TEAM. NO MATTER WHAT RACING IS A TEAM SPORT, GET A GRIP….JR WAS BORN WITH THE INSIGHT, SOME FOLKS HAVE IT AND SOME DON’T BUT YOU HAVE GOT TO WORK AS A TEAM. THE CAR OF TOMRROW HAS NOT YET ARRIVED, I DON’T CARE WHAT NASCAR CALLS THIS THING. NOW BACK IN THE DAY, WHEN CARS WERE HEAVIER,BLAH,BLAH, BLAH,AND THE TEAMS COULD BUY PARTS OFF THE STREET, THAT IS NOT SO TODAY, THEY HAVE TO HAVE SPECIAL PARTS FOR THIS AND THAT, PLUS BIG DOLLARS, AND THEN THEY WEREN’T MAKING THE KIND OF MONEY THEY ARE NOW. AT ONE TIME THE MANUFACTURERS WERE USING THE RACE TO DEMONSTRATE NEW VEHICLES,COMPONENTS,ETC.IT IS NOT LIKE THAT NOW,THE ONLY ONE ACTUALLY STILL IN THERE IS GOOD YEAR. SO SOME OF YOU NEED TO WATCH ALL THE OLD MOVIES.GRANNY 67

You are right, Barbara, I am sure he has more respect and appreciation for Jeff than we see on TV. I love Jimmie, too! I like Dale, Jr., I do think Eury might be his problem. Hendrick’s is the best, so I’m sure they would be doing their best to help Jr. He has the best equipment, so maybe try another crew chief would be in order. I still like ole Mark, too, he just hangs in there and is doing real good with Hendrick’s. I agree with you on the car itself, bring back the ole bump and grind days when everybody had a chance. So much depends on the amount of $ the team owners have. I give those guys always back at the line a lot of credit for hanging in there. I do hope Jeff wins the rest of the races, though!
[Reply]
I hope JEFF can win the rest of the season but if he can’t win i wise DALE JR WOULD DO SOMTHING.
[Reply]
Keep it going Jeff. We all appreciate every effort. Maybe your daughter will get to be at your next victory.
[Reply]
I love Jeff Gordon, he the best out there. He will win the 3 races he needs to get in the books. He wants this Championship, real bad. I can see it.he was ripped off years ago. So Isee it happening for him now! Good Luck Jeff!!!!
[Reply]
Jeff is the best. He would have his 5th championship if they had not changed to the new format.
[Reply]
HE should have 7 championchips!!!…or at least 5…nascar ruins the races with all the equality.

Tell me what you're thinking...

I would like to know the answer to that myself. Maybe among all of us we can find the answer. Jeff is the greatest!!! I am sorry, though, that there is no longer a Petty in the field. I like Jimmie Johnson very much, but he never gives Jeff credit or brags on him when he wins. I thought that was really tacky of him Sunday when Jeff won that he didn’t even congratulate him or brag on him like Jeff brags on him and the others for that matter when they win. Jimmie is just jealous, I think, but he ought to remember who gave him his start in NASCAR. He wouldn’t be where he is today if it were not for Jeff and Rick. Jeff even brags on Kyle Busch, and that takes “class”!!! Go, Jeff!! I’m so glad to see so many Jeff fans on here!

(1) Most ,if not all of Richards wins came with no ristrictor plates ,
(2) The rules wernt as stengent back then as they are now , remember he was one of the grandfathers of this sport when they brought to the track cars right off the show room floor and were alowed to run what u brong
(3)He was a leader in figureing out how to , i wouldnt call it cheating , but how to try and scurt the rules ,or hide what you were doing.
which this braught along more nascar tech people to watch over operations of each team at the track.
My opion
