That would really be a bad idea. I’d love to go to the local track if I wasn”t disabled and on a fixed income.

There would be no NASCAR if it wasn't for TV! But you know what - I'm sick of the crying. If it isn't a greedy stupid driver, it's a greedy ignorant track owner. Let's forget NASCAR and open a new stock car organization...I'm more than ready!!!

It would be nice to be able to go to the races any time we want to. But that's about as crazy as the tv blackout idea. Some of have to work, pay bills, and take care of our families. We try to go to Michigan every year, that's the closest track for us and it's still almost a 3hr. drive. Ticket prices really aren't too bad, motels (if you book a year ahead,or can get one) about $200.a night per room and you still drive 30 mi., and camping even in a tent is almost $300 for a family of four (if your kids are small). Food is crazy! But we go because it is our vacation, and we enjoy ourselves, not because we "own" tracks and have all kinds of money to blow. I thought Nascar cared about their fans! Maybe our next vacation should be in Vegas (in the casinos) it might not be quite as much fun, but it may be cheaper.

Sounds like Washington DC talking. Damn polticians they sound like. Crazy to even discuss. Not all good old boys can make it to the race. If they black out TV, they will piss a lot of folks and they might just say goodbye to the sport. I wish I could attend all the races. But I can make it to at least two a year and hopefully one more. I can tell you when I'm in my easy chair watch the race before, after and during. I'm thinking about going. But if I can't watch I might loose interest? Even sitting in my chair it stimulates the economy. I buy extra beer for the weekend, get my tee shirt and hat on and enjoy myself. Dumb dumb

Hank, see ya at Poconos, Ricmond and Dover

I am a racing fan & I live in Kansas. I refuse to be upset by your comment! I have been to Kansas Speedway several times but due to economy's down turn will not this year - whether it is on TV or not. I have often threatened to stop viewing on TV due to all the commerical breaks at crucial times in the race & some of the stupid remarks by "color commentators" on both major network & Speed. I am a Jr fan & will fullfill my "fix" somehow!

I have been a die hard NASCAR fan since 1973 with my very first race being the Firecracker 400 at Daytona International Speedway. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the July race at Chicagoland and the August race at Michigan International Speedway in 2008. I have not been happy at all with a lot of the changes NASCAR has made over the years and certainly do not like the favoritism NASCAR shows some of the drivers. If this money hungry Bruton Smith thinks he is going to be able to black out the races that do not sell out without losing the remaining fan base NASCAR still has, I believe he needs to re-think his decision. I know stupid is as stupid does, but what the hell are you thinking?? Bye NASCAR, it was awesome while it lasted.

Hey, Bruton, why don't you ask for a bail out?
Then you could make the races FREE and fill your stinking stands.
Bite me! I'll be watching movies from now on.
