I think Kyle Busch is an excellent driver and I used to be a Busch fan until the guitar incident. I have about as much respect for Kyle as Kyle had for his guitar trophy. I really don’t think Kyle’s show of disrespect for that fabulously decorated guitar trophy made his fan base larger. I find myself hoping he never wins another race. I’ve been a Jr fan since he came to the big leagues. Nobody can understand how it feels to lose a loved one tragically until it happens to you personally. My wife was killed in a violent car accident in 1990, almost 20 years ago. I still miss her every day. I took off 3 weeks and should have been 4. Jr was at work the next weekend and has been a class act everyday since. If he never wins another race, it doesn’t matter to me. He’s a first class individual and always will be. If you haven’t been there, there’s no way you can understand.

Now…KB is a PR guy’s dream. I hope all the BS he puts out isn’t for real. He is the only one who gave Sam Ard $100,000 to help with his medical bills and, you’ve got to admit, the kid can drive. Every truck, Busch (sorry…Nationwide), and cup car he gets in to can’t be that much better than the other guy’s…but he still wins.

He’s brash and probably a little stupid as far as public relations are concerned…but is he really? I remember a quote (roughly) attributed to Dale senior…”If they’re cheering for me or against me, at least their making noise.”

Sorry RJ, my buddies that build racing engines are fans of his also, they know that he does not have as good an engines, there are 6 sometimes 7 Hendrick engines on the track at once his is the only one that looses power. If you listened to Jr on his car radio, you would hear him say he is losing power. You would also hear him say he wishes he could get more speed. All he has ever wanted was the quality engines his Dad put in his car. Tony Jr is no longer with him, he is in R&D due to some griping fans.

Kyle is only popular with the media because of all the racing he does and all the stupid things he does and says. His reason for stalking off when he loses is that he is like a little leaguer crying because he lost the game. I am a JR fan and support him whether he wins or loses and I’m not crazy like Kyle seems to think that JR’s fans are. I appreciate JR for the man he is and the fact that he doesn’t feel he has to race like his father did but just be himself. I feel bad because he puts so much effort into his racing and doesn’t seem to get a car that’s set up or working properly so he can drive it the way he wants. I don’t usally get into this. But I’m old and I have something to say. First, I was not at anytime a Dale Sr. fan. Second, his dad has never driven the car for Jr. He does his own driving. He has his style and does it his way. He has won races, doesn’t try to wreck anyone, and has something that winning or loosing cant get you, CLASS!!! It can’t be bought, demanded or expected. As much as I dislike the way Kyle behaves at times he does have a point. Junior is loved and Kyle is the one being talked about in both good and bad light. Why did anyone need to put Rick Hendrick into this? Just because they both have or do drive for him! I have stated many times, if you all would quit talking and writing about Kyle’s ‘going ons’ that would be the best medicine he could get. Anyone who craves attention always will get it if they do crazy things. We are a family affair. There can only been one winner on race day. It’s what takes place before and after the race that says it all. We are “JR NATION” strong and proud. Our driver represents us and unlike KB he sets higher standards for himself.

To Sminoletaz, I agree with you 100%. I too am old, in fact, I’ve gone to NASCAR races since the 60′s. I’ve seen them come and go and as you said Jr. has something that winning or loosing can’t get you, CLASS, that is. This is definitely something Kyle Busch does not have and probably never will. He still has enough time to build a character that is worthwhile and show some maturing. Maybe in some years to come,he too can build “class”.

I’m glad to see that some of you still remember what a jerk Dale Sr was when he first got into NASCAR. Just goes to show you that being a jerk isn’t something that necessarily lasts forever. As far as being reckless, Dale Sr was probably one the most reckless drivers in NASCAR. As everybody knows, he turned out to be one of the greatest drivers who ever got into a race car and also became one of the most admired drivers. As far as Jr goes, he is only an average driver and probably will never be any more than that. A crew chief can only make the car as good as the driver can tell him what is going on with it. Don’t get me wrong, I think Jr is a great kid and is always going to have to try to live up to what Dale Sr accomplished and that is a shame. You people need to get a grip and stop letting Kyle occupy your minds all the time. I’m surprised you still have enough time in the day to think about Jr. Spend more of your time admiring Jr and just sit and watch Kyle keep winning races. While you’re at it, spend some time enjoying the great year that Mark Martin is having. Remember that stress causes strokes and heart attacks. Enjoy the races.

I have always been a Dale Jr fan, but I must agree when Kyle Busch says he is more popular than Jr……….because in all reality, HE IS! As far as only Dale Jr., fans being upset about the guitar smashing, he should check out the comments I have seen on line and in magazines and newspapers. Besides, how does he know that the only fans that are upset or Jr.’s. Mr. Hendrick wouldn’t put up with Kyle’s garbage, so that’s probably why he got rid of him. I just don’t understand why Mr. Joe Gibbs puts up with it either. I know Kyle is good at driving a race car but if Mr. Gibbs plans on keeping Kyle around, then he needs to sit Kyle down and have a few words with him.
