Are you kidding me? I am not nor was i ever a fan of the #3 but he is a legend and that is HIS town. You want to impress WHO? Show her this town has honor and loyality for a gone-but-not-forgotten man, not money lined pockets of SNOB..better yet paint signs with stencil’s of her INMATE # and impress the people of N.C….and VA. cause we all couldn’t give a damn about HER visiting our town…………..BOO, BOO, BOO. Can’t believe i took time from the race to have to read this kind of crap….

Why people with money think they can just walts in a town and start change things that be up 2 the people of NORTH CAROLINA if it wasn’t 4 Earnhardt nascar would suck “IF THEY CHANGE THE SIGN I THINK THE PEOPLE OF NORTH CAROLINA KEEP TAKING THE NEW 1 DOWN”….OR PAINT OVER IT.

What about the towel factory, man! Even the Earnhardts worked at the towel factory! Lintheads were around before the Earnhardts… that is what Kannapolis is famous for most. Towels! I know that is why I am making my vacation trip from Pittsburgh to Kannapolis this summer, the Cannon towel factory. Then the Dale Trail. Gotta’ love those towels…

me and my husband jesse has visited kannapolis many times and have always enjoyed the way they have remembered our hero mr dale earnhardt the museum the statue and yes we really liked the dale trail we thought they really cared about dale his memory and mrs earnhardt and the rest of the earnhardt family that has brought a many of tourist dollar to their city but now they smell a new scent and with it comes martha stewart and they want to forget their true history forget the earnhardt
family out with the old in with the new and she is only a visitor whom never done one thing for the city …me and my family never knew there was even a city by the name of kannapolis until dale well i guess now there not be a kannapolis to us even though we cherish our memories there but without dale there is no kannapolis

To Mike Legg..Lets just say this….Every thing that has DEI on it MOVE’S out of Kannapolis NC.”EVERYTHING” How much money do you think we are talking about? EVERY YEAR,MONTH,DAY..just try and add that up. Fans stop coming..no tax dollars..maybe MILLIONS..or more GONE! TRY just TRY to put this in your brain,shop’s close,job’s gone.
We as fans of one of the greatest race car drivers of all time can make this happen..and will! Dale Sr. did many things for Kannapolis.. in his life and more in his death. Kannapolis needs to show there respect.so do you!
A few sign’s are not that much to ask for. LEAVE THINGS ALONE LET THEM STAY !!!!

I came to this city because of Earnhardt that not a good thing to do to him it sounds like city office people need to stand up to this guy no matter how much money he has one day he will die to I dont know anything he did to make this town be happy Hes a nobody that needs to stay that way

Give me a break! Kannapolis was not even a city or on the map until the Earnhardts! How assinine! Some of you mentioned Oprah but I thought it was Martha jail bird stewart. Either way, which ever ‘visits’ did not make Kannapolis or Nascar racing. Each town has a local ‘hero’ with street signs etc. Why should this be any different? You cant go to any town/state without a MLK blvd/road/lane. Presidents of course have things named for them in towns, golfers/baseball players etc. grrrrrrr my blood pressure is just getting higher even more as I type. This is HIS town. Just like Mt Airy, is Andy Griffiths town. This goes on to rappers/actors etc. But the worse part Marth Stewart? Give me a break. She is an insult to female biz women every where regardless of her followers and the $$ she makes, she was a theif and a jail bird!!!
