Watching A Race From the Top of the Pit Box

Jay Busbee got the chance to watch a race from the ultimate position not long ago - on top of a pit box. Jar runs From The Marbles over at Yahoo, and he always has an interesting take on NASCAR.

Jamie McMurray\'s pit boxJay gives you a real inside view of that race, from being in a throng of fans on pit road just before the ‘Start Your Engines’ command, to watching Bill Elliott pit for repairs  right next door.

He describes the feeling of crew members waiting for the next pit stop, and the mad excitement of the stop. He also gives you a feel for what it’s like to watch a race car scream into its pit stall.

“After a few laps, I’m gone, back to watch the race from a distance once again. It was a hell of an experience, though,” said Jay on his blog.

It must have been a pretty cool experience. If you get a chance check out Jay’s blog From The Marbles.
