Look at the tape of the last two laps of the race again, you screwballs!! Brad Crashalotski was the one that tried to start it off by “pulling one of the patented Earnhardt, Sr. maneuvers” on Carl Edwards, Jr. The only thing is, this time it backfired, and as far as I’m concerned, Crashalotski deserved the outcome!! Like my father said on WindTunnel last night, that whole deal about blocking drivers in order to prevent a pass being made should be outlawed, anyway!!

i think wrecking someone is okay….it’s a race right? they do it in boat racing, motocross….it’s a chance they take or why race. i think the rules are getting tougher and the tougher they get the less tickets there going to sell. the drivers know what there doing….they get paid big money to race, so let them race. a bump is a bump and if they spin out, they won’t turn out like the #3 because there safer in there cars now.

Richard Petty is special to the sport. He’s tirelessly signed autographs and has made himself available to the fans for years. However, what makes him really special is the fact that he managed to cross the finish line first two hundred times, racing with drivers that,once they started their engines, had no friends! Dale Earnhardt Sr. was the last of the breed. He came by the nickname “The Intimidator” honestly. Back in the day, most drivers were the same way. With all of the serious money out there now, and drivers drinking Pepsi, and wearing three peice suits. It’s rare that the fans get to see real stock car racing anymore. Thanks Carl! Now you and the other 9 drivers can have a feud & maybe the fans will return to the racetracks! Gabe

This is the only way Edwards can win a race. I’ve seen him do it before. He says he first thinks what would he do to me and then wrecks him. In this case he perceived Kesolowski had tried to wreck him when in fact Brad just got loose because Edwards took the air off him. Unless Nascar does something (a suspension would be good) Carl won’t stop until he kills someone. Last year and the beginning of this year Brad got the reputation of Bad Boy but he’s calmed down and now it’s just good racing. At least he doesn’t take someone out on purpose. What Edwards did was inexcusable and deserves some kind of penalty. I’m sure if Nascar doesn’t do something, someone else will.

What Carl did was the same Brad did, Brad is a punk kid and needs to be taught a lesson. Brad intentionally tried to wreck Carl, Carl just got even. I feel quite sure it was not his intention to cause the others to crash. Brad needs to learn respect or get off the track.

I think Carl was just repaying Brad for his little bump and run that Brad did to him . He didn’t wreck him on purpose….I’m sure he didn’t want to have 10 cars wreck… Just misjudged his bump a little bit…Stuff happens… Let them work it out…Maybe Brad will think twice before he bumps and runs next time…Doubt it!!! It is time someone wiped that stupid grin off Edward’s face. Notice how he kept looking around while being interviewed, looking to see if anyone was coming after him? And to admit that he wrecked Brad on purpose because he wanted to win? There is something seriously wrong with his mind. Yes, he is frustrated because he can’t win like he used to but there are a lot of top drivers out there frustrated also and they don’t race down the track wrecking everyone to win, they do it the way it is supposed to be done. Sure, a little bump and run is exciting and ok but to deliberatly send someone into that kind of crash that could easily have really hurt Brad and other drivers despite all the safety equipment is just way beyond the “have at boys”. NASCAR should fine him big time, take away points and tell him race fairly or get out.
A three race suspension would also be good and if NASCAR does nothing about this incident it can only get worse and turn people off, at least those that like to watch a good race and don’t watch just hoping for a big wreck and possibly major injuries. If I never have to see
Edwards do that stupid back flip again in my lifetime it will be too soon. Evidently, he landed on his head at one time. You never see the good old racers deliberately wreck each other, with one exception, Kyle Bussh, but I don’t consider him one of the good boys anyway. He and Edwards are in the same league, wish they’d find some place else to race.

I keep saying this every week, it is NASCAR ‘s fault. They were the ones
to say, go have it out boys. Enjoy yourself. Now I know it is common to bump and run in a race but it should be restricted from doing something like this before the finish line. I saw the video last night and Brad bumped Carl a little to compare to what Carl did to Brad. Carl did it a little too hard. I know Carl was hungry for a win, but he could have killed or seriously injure a lot of drivers with that move.
I wonder if Brad had done the same thing to Carl, how would Carl have felt.
Dale Earnhardt did it with Terry Labonte back in the 90′s and there were a lot of
angry fans that night that booed Dale. I am a BIG fan of Dale and was angry with him that night for that move.

At the local short track, you spin the leader, you go to the end of the longest line.
If that was the rules in the national touring series, this conversation wouldn’t be happening.
I am not a fan of either driver, so i don’t have to get emotional about it.
Edwards wrecked himself at Talladega by trying to force Keselowski below the yellow line and then has put the kid into the fence twice the same way that Earnhardt was killed. A minimum of a weekend parking, like happened to Harvick might be enough to wake Edwards up. Hopefully before he puts someone to sleep.
Edwards has gone from a darling with his success story to a very selfish person who make poor decisions in a race car

On the Carl and Brad wreck. To my knowledge this is a racing sport, right? So when did it go from racing each other to a crash up derby? Carl crossed a line, and if NASCAR waits until someone gets seriously hurt, or dies, then it will be too late to do the right thing. The Bump and Run is a great move, if done properly, but to wreck someone, because you can’t win any other way, is across a line that Carl should have never crossed. Real NASCAR fans would have much rather seen a drag race to the finish line than that mele Carl brought on at the end of the race. A great example was the 2007 Daytona 500 finish between Harvick and Martin, wasn’t that exciting? But, would it have been exciting if Harvick just punted Martin out of the way to take the win? I say NO.

Having watch the Hall of Fame nominees program Sunday, they spoke very highly on the talent of the drivers that were really good at doing exactly what Carl did Saturday. So the question is, who got soft, the drivers or the fans. Here is my rule of them to judge if it is good driving or bad. If it is my driver doing it, then it is good driving. If my driver benefits from it then it is good driving. If it causes my driver a problem then I say ooooh bad driver. Put them all in stock cars with a beer in one hand and a cigar in another and let her rip. You don’t have to drive over 200 MPH to have a race.

I keep looking at the replay and can’t understand why NASCAR didn’t do anything to Carl? Did they see the same tape that we(fans) saw? Carl needs to be taken out of 3-4 races and yes, sent the bill to Roush Racing for all those cars that were badly damage. If Carl hasn’t did that, most of those cars could have been used again in another race. Hopefully Mike Helton is reading these comments and will issue something tomorrow or Wednesday about Carl Edwards.

If Brad didn’t start it Carl wouldn’t have to finish it. For Brad getting hit by other cars I blame that on spotters who didn’t tell them Brad was low.

Is it alright for Brad to hit, if the tables were turn around everyone would say that is racing. Carl deserves wins too, and the gloves were taken off and the drivers handle it on the race track. Brad needs to learn if you are going to dish it out nobody is going to lay down and let him walk over people.

James, just because someone was on tv last night don’t mean they know everything about racing. Dale Earnhardt never wrecked someone out of spite, he may have drove aggressively. I just wish Sr. was still around today, he would put a shoe in Carl Edwards rear end and make him like it. The next time Carl tried to wreck someone, I’m sure he would thing about it before he did it again. Earhardt was the best, he took no crap, and went on down the road and didn’t look back. I’ve never seen anyone so self centered as Carl, he thinks he can plainly run over people and nothing is done about it. There was one person in particular that tried to run over Dale Earnhardt and he got showed right away, I don’t think he ever tried to do it again, and that was Bill Elliott. When Brad first started racing. I commented that he was going to be one of the best racers. I have since seen too many times that he is the cause of wrecking someone. The same goes for Carl Edwards. He was my golden boy, but as time goes on, these two have shown they cetainly don’t think before they act. Someone could have been hurt badly not only in this last episode, but with these two, several previous times. I can appreciate that the excitement along with the urge to win can overtake logic. I agree with some readers that a bump and run is certainly permissable, but a bump hard enough to wreck someone is a no-no. and NASCAR should do something about it now…..

In my mind, what really aggravated me more than anything else about Earnhardt, Sr. was when he smashed Darrell Waltrip into the wall in Richmond in 1986. The same thing can be said about Rusty Wallace when he did the spun DW out in the “Winston All-star Race” in 1989 at Charlotte, and there have been several other incidents that I could mention but I won’t since I started watching NASCAR racing as of the beginning of the 1981 season.

Yes Carl and Brad both have there ‘bad’ side. I keep watching the replay over and over and I’m close to blaming Carl.

Hi statement “I just couldn’t let him win………” I think is close to whining and just confirms, with that attitude – Carl did it!!!!

Is Biffel and Carl still ‘loving’ each other????????????

Now go back a few years and it was “Cousin Carl” Ohhhh so over done with his sqeekie clean image and a son every Mom would want and EVERY owner would want Carl to drive for them. I believe his image went out with the bath water.

Yet. In all fairness. When Brad went to Penski I saw the immediate change and I DO NOT LIKE THIS ATTITUDE. YET. Remember Rusty!!!! Oh Yea. Mister attitude. Where might Rusty and Brad have picked this up.

The “MISTER I KNOW EVEYTHING” Penski. I’ve never liked him. And side note. The problems with Detroit’s past mayor and where did he get his money – yep – they have confirmed Penski gave the former mayor money. Thousands.

I see it as racing when they bump each other, all drivers do that, but to just hall off and knock the hell out of someone is something else and that is what Carl did Saturday Night. It’s just plain and simple, Carl hasn’t won very much in the past year or so, so he is jealous, and still has that chip on his shoulder from Talladega, somebody is gonna knock it off one of these days, especially when he takes out 10 cars because of his stupidness.

Moving someone out of the way is one thing. Wrecking someone deliberately is another. Someone will be seriously injured if this is allowed to continue. Carl is so frustrated that he’s not winning that he has to wreck someone to take a checkered flag. Nascar needs to step up to the plate and say that kind of action is so wrong. I think what Carl did to Brad crossed the line. Carl will keep going til he kills someone. I think he should sidelined for at least 6 races and made to pay for all the cars he caused to crash. If it would have been Brad’s intention to take Carl out, Carl would not have been able to save his car. Carl’s hit was premeditated and Brad was fortunate to avoid injury. The driver of the car that t-boned Brad was also fortunate to have clipped the front section and for the car to spin. A direct hit into the side at that speed could have taken out two drivers. Carl Edwards should be barred from NASCAR. It’s time to send a clear message to anyone that acts so foolishly just to score a win. The drivers know that an accident at high speed could be fatal but this kind of behavior is STUPID and NASCAR should step up and announce that this behavior cannot and will not be tolerated. Does NASCAR have what it takes to do the right thing? We’ll see.

Brad came into this sport with a big chip on his shoulder. His over-aggressive style of driving early in his career has given him a bad reputation. He has probably hit everyone in Sprint Cup and Nationwide at least once or twice. As long as nobody does anything about Brad’s idiotic driving he will keep it up. The incident at Gateway was started by Brad. Carl raced him clean until Brad hit him first. He should have learned from the last time if he’s going to take Carl out he better do it right. Carl is the only one out there with the guts to show the jerk he’s not going to put up with his crap. As far as Brad’s father is concerned, I guess he hasn’t realized yet what a punk his son is. Get your driving suit on dad, and go help your punk son.

Like the little children that both drivers are acting like…we need to give someone a “time out”. If there is an issue…settle it off the racetrack. Take these two down to the gym with some boxing gloves and let them have a “go at ‘em boys” and keep it off the track where 10 others have lost a chance of winning, and destroying their cars. Does anyone remember the Talladega race and Carl’s interview afterwards. He flat out said that Brad did nothing wrong. He had every right to hold his line. Carl thought that he could intimidate Brad and it didn’t work. I used to think Carl was okay, but now I think he is just an insecure jerk and will do anything he has to in order to win since he can’t seem to get the job done just by racing. Ask the fan that was severly injured at Talladega last year is she would like to see more of Carl’s actions!! Bet not! I have lost all respect for NASCAR. “Good Sportsmenship” “Fairplay” What lessons are we teaching our youth? To fine or take points, that doesn’t hurt these wealthy drivers. Take them out of the car for five or six races and this kind of driving will correct itself. If NASCAR won’t, owners should or sponser should demand good sportsmenship. I will not support a sponser or owner’s team or NASCAR until someone steps up and take responsibility.
