Brian Vickers was totally wrong for what he did. He was the one who caused that big wreck. If he wasn’t trying to block Dale, none of that would have happened. Dale had a run on Vickers, and he (Vickers) pushed Dale below the yellow lines, and when Dale came back up he clipped Brian. All I can say, Brian, you better learn how to drive.

Jr fan or not, Junior was just trying to get himself back up on that track. Should Vickers have cut him off..not really being they go 180 plus mph there and everyone wants to win there. I think Vickers is the cause of the whole situation. Don’t you guys remember when Vickers took out Jimmie Johnson and Dale Jr at the end of Talledaga in 2006 and he didn’t even bat a eye or apoligize? IF Jr would to do something wrong he would apoligize and he always does. That is why he has a huge Junior Nation and Brian Vickers does not..And with Kyle Busch whinning..well that’s just Kyle but yet he has taken out Jr in the past too so maybe it’s all just pay back..Besides it’s Nascar..it’s not a good race if everyone is just making a left turn without some excitment..And other thing, the comment that Burton said about Junior should have been working with him versus putting him three wide..Um Jeff..did you forget you are in a race car and once you get on the track you are there for yourself and no one else..Jeff needs to put the big boy pants on and stop driving like a panzy and realize the gas is on the right and if he uses it he may have gotten a better finish!

I think the media is making a big deal out of this as publicity! Vickers felt the need to block Jr, but was it really necessary? They were both a lap down and Jr had a better car. It was a dumb move. If you look closely it appears Jr. got into Vickers tail end after he was already loose. If you ask me, Vickers is to blame.

It is all the fault of Brian Vickers! he caused the big wreck and should be blamed for it! Everyone heard Jr! He said that he was trying to get his car under control after Vickers made a really bad block in the front of the field. I have never heard Jr lie and I for one believe what he said. Heck no, the move that Jr made was unintentional. I wish Jr had the chance to go whip Vickers ass afterwards! He deserves as asswhooping! Shame on Larry Mac and DW for saying what they did about JR. After the interview with Jr don’t you see how Larry and Dw changed their tune!? All the Jr haters need to sit up and listen. I for one think Jr did a wonderful job keeping his car from spinning after the stupid move by Vickers!

Funny thing about Vickers he can’t seem to have much of a memory.If he could dig deeper into his thick skull he may remember the fall Dega race of ’06.I mean for crying out load it was the dude’s only victory.Brian Vickers fans can correct me if I’m wrong.(If they really even exist)But did he not wreck his own teammate at the time JJ and Jr. on the last lap on the backstretch.I’m in no way saying this is payback for Jr or anything like that.But it really wasn’t a big deal for him to turn some cars that’s in front of a big pack of drafting cars.Even though Jr and Jimmie ended up in the grass, it could of been possible to turn them the other way.

I have always thought Dale JR was a jerk. I was lucky enough to get to got to the Bud suite in Talledaga a few years back. He came in signed a few autographs, we were instructed not to speak to him or make photos. period. If we did he might not come back the next time. I thought SO WHAT! Were buying bud and stuff with his name on it and he can’t even acknowledge a fan saying “good luck”. He was a total jerk.

i would have paid money to see JR whip Vickers’ butt. Don’t forget Vickers punted JR to get his only win. David Poole is nothing but an oversized windbag whose opinion doesn’t mean didley. JR seems to finally have some fire in his belly and his cars are running sooooo much better.He will be a WINNER this year and if NASCAR hadn’t so quick to throw the win to Kennseth, and they were allowed to finish the race, JR could have quite possibly had his first race yesterday.

I think that the crew chief’s that were telling their drivers to “Hurry up, it’s gong to rain” should have gotten fined, that’s when the panic started the cluster of cars started and then all hell broke loose, why in the world would you tell all the drivers this??? It caused havoc and a mass frantic bunch up, had they just let the drivers do what they do best and then when the rain started call it….Those are the jerks that should get the heat!!!! What a dumb thing to tell your driver, well knowing what it is going to cause!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brian Vickers had a right to block Dale Jr.,yes,but not to hit him in the process.Dale did not intend to hit Vickers either. The whole thing was an unfortunate accident, Vickers has been known to wreck others to win in the past. Jr had every right to move back above the line, considering the rules are he cant change position while below it! I didn’t see the race but I saw the video and to me it looks like Vickers tried to block BEFORE making sure he was clear and wouldnt hit anyone(great job there spotter!. I also noticed that Jr had nowhere to go when he came back across that line. So maybe we should all be asking questions of whoever spots for Vickers, not if Jr was in the wrong! Like its been said in previous comments….thats racing!

Vickers made such a dumb, rookie move!! There should be no discussion . . . only time and experience will improve his judgement . . . his ‘talent’ is already ‘maxed out’. The move he made to cause Sunday’s wreck will never be ‘OK’ and hopefully someone will teach him what it takes to drive with respect for the other owners, drivers and fans. He drove like he was leading the last lap on a slow dirt track in front of his hometown sweetheart.
Just hope he doesn’t kill someone with his youthful ignorance.

I think it is about time Junior starts fighting back. He has been Mr. Nice Guy too long and some of the Media puts him down every chance they get. As far as I’m concerned, you can replace Jimmy Spencer and DW both–maybe throw in Larry Mac and one or two more. For someone who has raced in NASCAR, some of these dudes have a very short memory as if they NEVER caused an accident. If things don’t begin looking up in our sport, it will have ONE LESS fan. ME.

I’m not that much of a Jr. fan and less of a Vickers fan now. He had no business trying to block Jr. However, if Vickers were simply trying to pass someone else and didn’t realize Jr. was there, it would be an honest accident. Jr. had to go below the yellow line to avoid hitting Vickers any harder than he did. Too bad Vickers couldn’t hold on to it better. It is a race and these things happen. Not sure which race you were watching but the only contact was after Jr went below the line and he moved up and bumped Vickers just back of the rear wheel then backed off just enough to clip the rear bumper sending Vickers up across the track with his wheels turned to the left trying to straigten the car up but contact was made with the 18..I have ran this in slow motion to see where contact was made,,,Vickers never hit Dale Jr it was Jr doing the hitting, and NASCAR should have parked him 5 laps like they did the car in the Nationwide series Sat nite..only thing that kept them from parking him was it was their Golden Boy..and trouble maker..I also remember twice Dale Jr had screwed up pitting, if his hangover was that bad Ric and or Nascar should have did their first p-test of the season!

Brian Vickers has managed to do something no one else has been able to do – until now. With one little block he has turned the news media and half of NASCAR Nation against Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Uh………WHAT?????????? Brian Vickers didn’t cause the fans and media to become outraged with Junior. Good grief, get a grip. Junior did that ALL BY HIMSELF when he decided to knock Vickers out of the way. And NOBODY has “turned against” him. And people are not even really mad at Junior, they are mad as hell at NASCAR for not doing anything about it!!

In the Nationwide race, Leffler hit the #66 and got parked 5 laps and his intent was nowhere near as obvious as Junior’s. I am not a Leffler fan and to be honest, I’m not 100% Vickers fan, either. I don’t care if Vickers had never won a race, or how he did win the Dega race. I don’t care what Kyle Busch did to who. None of that matters……..what matters is what happened this weekend. Because THAT is why so many people are ticked. NASCAR gave Junior special treatment and everybody, who is honest about it, knows it. Why would NASCAR park him for 5 laps and let half the stands empty out or throw everything they can get their hands on out onto the track?? They had rather tick off everybody else, but not the majority of the fans who pay the ticket prices to come to the race. Or watch the race on TV. You guys can say what you want, bring up whatever driver you want, it has nothing to do with the incident that happened on the 15th of February of 2009 at the Daytona 500. One thing NASCAR HAD better worry about…..the other majority of fans it DID tick off and that as of yesterday will no longer buy tickets or merchandise or watch the WWF/aka/NASCAR anymore. I have been a NASCAR addict for over 20 years, but that crap NASCAR pulled yesterday broke the camel’s back for me……I’m done. So next time Junior pulls a stunt like that and kills somebody, I hope you fans remember yesterday…..I know everybody else will.

I did not watch all of the Daytona 500 yesterday. I started watching it, then D.W. started running his Jaws, so I just turned it
to a movie. Before the COT, you could not drag
me away from the TV. I did see the replay of
the wreck…and if it was Jr’s fault then pigs
can fly!!! Vickers is all mouth, just like D.W. and McReynolds. They say one thing, then
crawfish or as some would say, take back water.
I only wish Jr. was more like the Late Great
Dale Earnhardt. But he’s not, and no one can

I agree with the rest of you, if it had happened to anyone else it wouldn’t have been such a big deal, but since it was Dale, Jr. everybody is going to blow it out of line!!! I am so glad that Darrell Waltrip stood beside Dale, and he’s right, if it was Dale’s fault he would have took the blame and owed up to it like a man, more so than Kyle Bush and Brian Vickers. I cant believe that the media is trying to make it JR’s fault and “try” and make his fans turn on him. I think the media should start writing meaningful stories on how the Daytona 500 ended on a judgement call. That is the bigger story right now, not JR wrecking the the drivers that have done him wrong in the past. I think it is great to see Vickers, Busch and Hamlin get what they deserve. I mean how many times have the real fans of NASCAR said “will someone please take that arrogant bastard Busch out…please?” I think Vickers should watch his words wisely in the next couple weeks because I have a feeling that JR will NOT tell JR nation to stop harassing him. like the way he did for Gordon. I am a huge fan of NASCAR and an even bigger fan of JR, but I can honestly say if I ever run across any one of those three drivers mentioned above, I would think about giving them a black eye.

Jr did no wrong. Hey media…did you forget about who you were writing about….yes that is right…Dale Earnhardt’s son! It is great to see the “The Intimidator” legacy WILL live on. All JR needs now is an open faced helmet and a pair of speed goggles!

I agree with you, Jr. should be like his father. he could win more races. I was there at the Race,yesterday, I saw the wreck, I was in a Suite right close to the wreck. Jr. was not wrong, he did not cause the wreck. So it happen at a time when Dale Jr. needed to get even with Vickers and Kyle Busch for wrecking him at dega and daytona, causing him to lose the race. Wake Up Media and other fans, Remember all of this? I don`t think Jr will lose any Fans He has True and Loyal Fans.

I don’t think the talking heads were against Jr. They seemed to me to look at both sides and put the blame where it belonged…….on the racing of both of the guys. I don’t think either of the drivers will be proud of his actions after thinking about it for a few days and looking at the videos. Anyway, it allowed a wonderful person to win the race and not a stinker like ‘rodent-boy’. It was a great race to the fans gathered at this house!!!!!

Has everyone forgot about another incident that happemed last year? The biggest differance was that no one was run off the track trying to block and this wreck WAS caused just to win a race, taking out the two front runners and what little that was said about it was soon forgotten or just dropped. And if memory serves me correctly, the announcers even defended the driver. And how many has the same driver wrecked more or less the same way since then amd he’s still spoke of as if he is some kind of hero. But least we not mention his name, so I’ll just let the name melt in my mouth and not in my hands.

Winning a Race is crossing the Finish line, I`m sure Matt would have felt like he won the Daytona 500 If he had raced across the finish line. I think with all the new rules Nascar has this year, This rain finish should be changed. I will suggest that to Brain France the next time I`m over at the Track.

As far as the Leffler-Jr thing, that was 2 different scenarios, you can’t compare the two and they are 2 different drivers, one is known for being aggressive on the track(Leffler) one is not(obviously that would be Jr) so I’m sure that was taken into consideration also. And if you want to make a big deal out of the differences with penalties, what about Todd Bodine Friday night? He took out half the field, and admitted he did it cuz he was scared to death to go below the yellow line, so he hit the 10 which went sideways and took out everyone else, why wasn’t he penalized???? I guess Nascar is giving him special treatment too??? Give me a break!!!

Okay, this is totally ridiculous, Brian Vicker’s caused that wreck, he is the one who knocked Jr. down below the double yellow line. Jr was gathering his car back up, it was totally a racing incident. I am really disappointed in David Poole, I always liked him, can’t believe his statement. I am and always will be a Dale Jr. fan and I feel his actions weren’t malicious, if it had been up to me I would have put Vicker’s in a wall long before now after Talladega. Vicker’s has done it other timnes too, when he took out Bliss for the All Star Race, so you see his record speaks for itself. And as far a s Jeff Burton and the 3 wide racing, they all did that all day. So he needs to quit whining, too. I was actually surprised by that part of the whole thing. I didn’t think it was like Burton. Vicker’s has no room to whine, he only can win a race by wrecking the people in front of him. If fans of Dale Jr.’s dump on him, then I say they aren’t and never were real fans. Dale Jr. has the best fans and more class then most of the guys racing in the cup series. He said it was an accident and he tells it like it is, so get over yourselves and move on. I will continue to support him and wish him the best in 2009. I have watch the re-run of the video over and over. I feel if Dw and Larry Mac watch the video again before they put foot in mouth, especially Larry Mac to say it’s wrong or no call. You can see were Brian cross the yellow line to tap Jr. Jr. knew he was below the yellow line and he wanted to get back up before Nascar said something. There was opening for Jr. to pass Brian and Brian deliberately push Jr. down and Jr. was trying to get control of his car. Brian is the one who lost control of his car and the rest is history. It is interesting to read these comments…I think that Dale Jr. had to what he did. Go down below the double line, come back up to the surface. He did clip Vickers, but NOT on purpose. He didn’t know at the time that the both of them were a lap down. Jr. was not at fault!! I remember when Vickers caused the wreck with Dale Jr. and Johnson. I was so upset then as I was yesterday. Brian Vickers is just running his foamy mouth to try and get attention. He is just a two bit piece of junk and saw the opportunity to try and trash Junior with words that he could easily use describing himself.

Nobody would normally listen to him but his trashing Junior gets him attention which he craves. There are wrecks in every race and why would anyone think that his is so special?

I was thoroughly disgusted with Larry and D.W.
airing such harsh words about Junior which they do not do for other drivers, involved in a wreck. And then, their changing their opinion so openly on the program a few minutes later, with less venom towards Junior. I have no respect for either of those liars, surely showing that they definitely are not professionals in their jobs. Both could easily be replaced with more honest crowd pleasing commentators.

Dale Jr. is still my favorite and I respect him for always admitting any mistakes made by himself.

Brian Vickers will do anything to hurt Jonior because he is so jealous of him.

I do not think that Junior lost a fan but Brian probably lost one of his two fans by showing his ass in such a cruddy way.

Nothing happened in this racing that does not happen every week.

Brian, Larry and D.W. all made a big mistake.
I guess we all saw their fickleness.

I am proud of Junior accomplishing so many things in his life with the help of his sister,
without hurting anyone , or being revengeful.

I think Dale Jr. did nothing wrong in this case. Brian Vickers blocked him hard, and should expect somehting back for it.. You don’t just block someone at 190 mph that is going faster than you, and than set back and say it was not my fault.. He should have gave the room for the pass or try to block, either way the other car is going faster and has to do something.. Plus if you push him off the track, do not expect them to have full control getting back on the track.. they are at two angles, and messes with the control of the vehicle.. Brian Vickers got what he ask for.. Just too bad he did it in front of the pack.. He can not expect someone just to back down because he is trying to block, they are still going to try and get around them… Let them go, or pay the price…

You know you people in the media should start reporting the truth and not lies. This his how come our world is the way it is. If you were even paying attention to the race you will see that Jr was not in the wrong. Jr had the and Vickers just plain blocked him and drove him down to the yellow line. Then Jr let up and just miss judged when falling back into line. Jr did not mean to wreck Vickers and nine other cars. If Jr did it on purpose he would have said he was sorry that he caused a wreck. But he didn’t. He said Vickers should have let him go by instead of the block. I agree, Jr. should have been a little more patient, but how many times has Vickers wrecked Jr. and many other drivers? Not only did Vickers wreck Jr. and Jimmie Johnson at Talledaga to get the only win of his career, he also wrecked Jr., just as the race started, maybe two or three laps into the race, at Las Vegas a few years ago, I know I was there. I think Brian Vickers should be thinking back to that Dega race also, everyone wanted to kill him, including his team mate, who he also took out with Jr, remember what Jimmie said? I do, and there was NO love loss there between Brian, and JJ or JG, neither of them came over to congratulate him and they were his team mates. Jr is the ONLY one that stuck up for Brian, said it was a racing deal when we all know it def wasn’t. I don’t care what anybody says, if you watch the replay a dozen times like i did, you will see Jr. going 10 mph faster than Vickers. When Vickers came down to block Jr. it was Vickers that hit Jr. first. Jr. hit him back when he was correcting after being pointed at the grass. People need to look before they talk. Response to David- If you think Jr. is such a jerk, why did you go to an event where he was making an appearance?

And regarding the race, the wreck was a result of the block. If JR. had slammed on his brakes, which is what he would have had to do since his car was so much faster, the wreck still would have happened. Vickers blocked him all the way down to the grass. Blocking someone going that much faster was just plain stupid.

Unlike Vickers and Kyle Bush, Jr. admits when he is wrong. Anyone who says differently hasn’t watched much NASCAR.

I have enjoyed reading all these comments, I am proud to see once a Jr fan always a Jr fan. He is the greatest. If he wasn’t racing I’d watch I Love Lucy re-runs before I’d watch Nascar. I have been to many races and some that Jr got wrecked by another driver on purpose. If he had been to blame he would have said so and he would have said how sorry he was. I can’t forget the time he said s–t and points were taken away then a few weeks later one said a– and nothing was said, Where do this officials think s— comes from and too everyone does it so why was it so bad. I agree with the many who are “sticking up” for Jr. He IS honest and admits his mistakes. Vickers is jealous, I can’t stand him! He just wants to be like Jr.!! I just went back and read many of the comments about the race yesterday. Wow, what a fan bace JR has!! You folks are great! How many sports have the fans who are female anyway? Jr sounded a bit like his dad there for a minute. Vickers is on the edge as it is and I believe strongly that his fear of loosing his ride over rode his thinking about blocking someone at that point in the race. Correct me if I am wrong here but if you have a huge run on someone and they cut you off like that the only thing your thinking about then is saving your self. Two agressive drivers going for the same spot. One won a race like that a while back and seemed to have forgotten that. As for the mouths in the booth? They are not saints either. Just read most of the above comments…I don’t think Junior is losing any fans. Matter of fact he may have added a few due to his “Daddy Like” driving, which I’m darn tickled to see him do. The wreck was clearly Vickers fault, it was not necessary to block Jr. Just because others were blocking Vickers does not mean he needed to take it out on Jr. I remember Talledega when Vickers took out Jr. and Johnson (his own teammate at that time). By the way the real killer out on the track is Kyle Busch. He seems so certain he could have won the race – too bad that NASCAR stopped the race and didn’t give him a chance to prove it. I don’t feel that Jr was totally at fault in this wreck – I have watched the replays numerous times now and I see nothing that looks to be an intentional move by Jr to wreck Vickers or anyone else. He didn’t turn the car into Vickers. He is man enough to admit when he is wrong and to apologize, he doesn’t put the blame on anyone else if he is the cause. Vickers needs to sit and watch the replay and watch it real good. He already felt everyone was out to get him in the race so he had to justify that by blaming Jr for something he started. you call yourself a racefan is that so? well to my knowledge whether a driver does something or not, change something up or not, you DON’T ABANDON THEM if you are a true race fan. You are like every other Bandwagoners who have just got into the sport, quick to jump ship when the going gets tough. I’m a JJ and Jr fan and have been since they cut their teeth in the Winston Cup which if you didn’t know, that’s what the Sprint Cup used to be known as until 2004. My friend, you should never show up to the poker table without a full deck of cards. So what Jr is changing his driving style, in case you haven’t noticed yet, he is apart of one of THE most prestigious race teams in NASCAR, Hendrick Motorsports, a true Championship organization. Jr has to change up his driving style to perform better, just like a golfer has to change up their swing to get a better handle on the windspeed in which their preparing to hit their ball in, just like a Running Back has to change up their agility and awareness to increase their chances of creating big plays out of dead ones. That’s what Champions do if you haven’t noticed yet!!! As far as the media is concerned they can take whatever negative publicity they have on Jr or any other driver for that matter and shove it up their asses!!

as for the incident on the backstretch I do say this, Jr was making a move to the inside, Brian was blocking, Jr did not get up to Brian rear corner panel, no, to my knowledge Jr got back on track, slipping the back of Vicker’s bumper Aero dynamically thus taking air off of the rear wing. BOTTOM LINE is, Brian took the blocking too far, his left side tires was also on the yellow line, a quarter of an inch below it as a matter of fact. So for everybody who say that Jr was at fault please do yourselves a favor, look closely at the tape as if you was an NFL official under the booth during a challenge, look at every aspect of it, if you still see it as if Jr caused it then that’s you and good luck explaining how so.

Jr is driving more and more like his father, slingshots in the middle to the high side, and who could blame him? rain was coming, meaning time to go if you wanted to have a shot at a daytona 500 win, that’s just hard nose racing in my opinion, Jr did everything a championship caliber racer would do, besides, where was all this debating when Kyle was doing the same thing last year, wrecking people on the apron at Atlanta during the truck race because of a pit road penalty he had to serve the lap before, or almost lifting Jimmie in the air at Chicagoland Speedway on the last restart of that race, give me a break if you going to say that Jr is a bad influence now.

I think the problem is that the commentator reacted without watching the replay. They reacted without hearing both interviews. I don’t care who you are DW that is poor journalism at best. Once Jeff Hammond said it was just racing they all started to back off. When everyone else including Rusty Wallace said It’s just racing and Jr said He didn’t wreck anyone on purpose then we did a complete turn around.

The press is making this ugly. They think they can balance the fan bases by doing it. Not going to happen. Despite what they think the members of Jr. Nation are neither dumb nor gulible. We saw what happened too.

Vickers started the wreck. Dale Jr may have finished it but Vickers started it. If you go back and watch that video. Vickers came down on the 88. Yeah the 88 had his wheels turned to the right. He was trying to get back on the track. Vickers wanted to keep him down there so he cut down again. When he did he got clipped. I guess it is like Daddy use to say, Becareful what you ask for. He wanted Jr. down there. Well he got him down there.

Hang tough Dale Jr. Some of have a much longer memory than Kyle and Brian. And as far as this article goes. I am very disappointed that such sensationalism was used to get readers. What irritates me about what Jr. did, is that if Vickers and Jr.’s roles were reversed, Vickers would have been parked for probably 5 laps for rough driving.

These are the types of stunts, along with the invisible debris cautions when Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon are about to go a lap down, etc, that leave NASCAR with the same rep as pro wrestling, like a non-sport.

Does NASCAR really think we’re that stupid? That we aren’t gonna figure out the “favorites” game they play with some teams and drivers?

DW tried valiently to backpeddle his earlier comments about “Junebug,” but he was right the first time, when he said Jr. was totally wrong in what he did. Jr. was mad about missing his pit road slot, and then pitting outside his box, and he took it out on some really good cars, contenders to win the race. That’s just wrong, and he needs to apologize to all of those guys.

The first thing you would see, (that is if you were really watching) was Vickers trying to block Jr. and sent him outside the yelow line. Another driver would not have the reflexes that Jr. had to immediately try to get back in lane to avoid any crash. Unfortunately, Mr. Vickers still would not give anyone any room and he got spun around and caused the crash. That’s what most people that I have talked to seen and agree.
NASCAR had better stop being so petty, i.e. with their calls of not giving any driver an inch, whether it be Jr. or any other driver, they will see that more people will be watching the race on TV or not at all. Keep it up NASCAR and you too can be out of a job !!!!!

I can still remember how mad i was when Vickers took out JR.at Talledega he was a dirty driver then and still is and i said then what goes around comes around and it finally did.
As for Dales fans they will always be be behind him, the fans go wild whenever he gets out in front.
As for what happened it was an accident plain and simple and it is now in the past so leave it there and look forward to the next race.
As for Vickers, he is just a baby and jealous that he is not popular like JR is.
I am happy that it happened the way that it did because i was so angry and mad that he took out JR. at Talledega.
JR. did not do it intentionally so Vickers needs to get over it and if he can not accept that accidents do happen in racing then he should find another profession that he would be better at, one that he do not need a pacifier for.

Vicker’s shouldn’t have tried to block a faster car than him when that car is a lap down and so is he no matter who it is , but if he does he better expect what comes with it. If JR. wanted to he could have done Vickers right in.He said it wasn’t deliberate , I for one believe him.If you watch the replay it didn’t look like he tried to wreck him just gain control of his own car that someone else tried to put into the grass deliberately.

It’s amusing how the article states what Larry McReynolds and Darrell Waltrip’s initial reaction was but it never mentioned what that had to say after reviewing the tapes and listening to jr’s version. They agreed it was a mistake and that they believed jr and said what an honest person he was and is not afraid to admit when he screws up. Vickers needs to get over it. I’m sure he was pissed but he’s made plenty of his own mistakes.

BLAH BLAH BLAH!!! I love it how you put what Larry Mac and Darell Waltrip said initially and didn’t bother to put what they both said after they had a chance to review it. Darrell actually put out an apology in his commentary yesterday saying that he spoke to soon. So what everyone is saying is that JR should lift and let no-driving Vickers complete the block?? I don’t know if you guys are familiar with Daytona, but there is a little thing called a “draft” there. Basically, you lift, you lose. My opinion is, if Vickers is man enough to sling his car down the track and block, then he should be man enough to take a bumper. We all know that Vickers still has a chip on his shoulder over not being with Hendrick any longer. This isn’t the 1st time he has had a run in with a Hendrick car, and with his erratic driving style, I am sure it won’t be the last.

This is just another classic example of the media blowing something out of proportion. It’s racing…. It is amazing to see how far downhill NASCAR has gone in such a short time. There used to be a black 3 that was known for putting a bumper to the guys in front of him and moving them out of the way. He is a NASCAR legend. Now, just a few short years later, if you put a bumper to someone, they just point fingers of blame at you and blast you throughout the media. It is ridiculous. All of these NASCAR drivers like Kyle Busch that are blasting JR for wrecking Vickers are nothing but hypocrites. You put any one of them in the same situation being blocked by Vickers, and you can bet they would have put a bumper to him as well.

What the media should be blasting is NASCAR for not trying to get the whole race in, even if it meant running the rest on Monday. This is supposed to be the Super Bowl of racing and they end under a rain shower?? Ridiculous!!

Without Dale Jr there is no NASCAR. Because of what happened Sunday at Daytona, I will probably not attend another race all year. Dale Jr could have won that race if it wasn’t for penny-annie penalties and because it was DJr they should have passed on it knowing Dale Jr is the #1 money maker in all NASCAR. Last year I protested by not going to any of the races after that call giving Tony Stewart the race when Ragan Smith (God bless his heart) won that race fair and square. One of your NASCAR owners also agreed with me saying that was an outright bad call. This year because they didn’t finish the race we all payed good money to see I WILL NOT GO TO ANOTHER RACE IN 2009! Also, Brian Vickers is a wimp of a driver and no one I know can stand him. Jr. made our day when he, finally, showed some guts against that wimp Vickers.

I was thrilled to see Dale Jr finally show some guts as he is the best driver out there but never shows it! Even though I love him, adore him, always vote for him daily…..I have often called him a wimp because he lets everyone get away with things on the track. Thank God Jr finally came through showing HE IS A REAL MANLY DRIVER against that wimp of all wimpies Brian Vickers. None of us are going to any more races this year because of all the calls against Dale Jr and because of NASCAR calling the race so early. I would have stayed there and waited for the rains to stop. My group is all for Dale Jr and one for Tony Stewart. We were all disgusted with Sunday’s Daytona 500. Matt Kenseth is boring. If Tony Stewart won that race the crowd would have been estatic! First of all, Dale Jr will never get booed. His problem is he is too giving on the track and Sunday….well, Jr. made our day even though he was a lap down he showed he had it in him and he could do it! How come it is alright for Vickers to run into Jr. when trying to block him, but it Jr. gets into Vickers trying to keep his car under control then it is just horrible. Bet neither one of them would have said anything like that to Dale Sr. He would have had their ass in the wall just for trying it on the track and then settled it off track as well. Well it’s about time that Dale starts running like his Daddy. What I seen was Brian trying to stop Dale from passing him, he seen that Dale had a very good run on him. As far who was to blame Dale was very professional about the whole thing he said that it was 50% his fault and 50% Briana fault and if anyone seen that interview with Brian, he agreed with Dale. Let me get this straight, Kyle drives more like Dale Sr? ummm where at on those little video games you play every night before you brush your sleep, say your prayers, and go to bed? In what aspect does Kyle remind you of legends like Dale Sr.? the aggressiveness? pleeeeaassseee, for one, Dale Sr. (unlike your beloved boyfriend Kyle Busch) only used his aggressiveness at the appropriate timing, such as going for a win, Kyle on the other hand uses his aggressiveness 95 percent of the time, thus putting not only himself but other drivers and the wall for that matter at risk of a hard crash. Second, the transmission I heard between Kyle and his crew towards the end of last weeks California race was very childish, Kyle not thanking his team for a good finish, instead he blabbered on and on sarcasticlly about how he wasn’t able to win the race. I understand the passion of winning and that it’s desirable to win every race but in actual reality you can’t win them all, you can only take them as they come.

I remember in 02 I think it was when Him and Steve Parks got togeather, Steve was end over end and it looked like his car was going to roll on top of Jr. When the dust settled the first thing Jr did was get out of his car and run over to Steves to make sure he was all right, then they walked away with Jr ‘s arm around Steve’s shoulders to help him. Any Jr. fan that doesn’t back him, well, was never a fan to begin with….maybe they should jump on the Kyle Busch band wagon….if you’re a fan of a driver, you should defend him no matter what !!!!! But, one thing i do notice, is that some so-called fans don’t always back up their drivers, they only want to back up whoever wins the most races. Take for instance when Gordon was running away with win after win after win, hop aboard the Gordo wagon, now they all want to hop aboard the Kyle wagon. A true fan would never give up on their driver. A true fan would make a great friend. If anyone gives up on Dale I wouldn’t trust them to be my friend. Don’t turn your back on Dale when he needs us the most. What’s happening is true. I stuck with jeff Gordon through the whole year last year and never saw him win. But he is still my number one and always will be. Dale is up there with Jeff and will come through and any fan that leaves him shouldn’t be a fan of his anyway.

David, I’m sure that Jr’s staff came in and once they saw you they decided that Jr. should keep it short, sweet and to the point. Lets face it, you’re a couple of cans short of a six pack. It could of also been that tic that you have. Anyone seating there with their head bobbing side to side as yours does would alert anyone.

Every since that Sunday I have a cheer that I say everytime a good guy gets near vickers.
“PLEASE, PLEASE TAKE THAT FOOL OUT. PLEASE PLEASE KNOCK HIM BACK INTO NEXT WEEK. PLEASE, PLEASE TOTAL HIS RIDE.”
It has really been working pretty good lately. He can get a pole, but he spends a lot of time in the pit getting his ride fixed.
