Earnhardt Sick – Brad Keselowski on Stand-by

Dale Earnhardt Jr looks and feels much better today. I believe he will be able to race without relief.

Dale Earnhardt Jr is suffering from stomach-flu like symptoms and Brad Keselowski is standing by should Junior be unable to race – or need relief – in Sunday’s Allstate 400 at The Brickyard.

When Earnhardt awoke at 5:00 am Friday morning he seriously considered heading to the emergency room instead of the speedway. He eventually made it to the track and went straight to the infield care center where he was given an I.V.

Brad Keselowski is set to practice the No.88 car today if weather permits. He needs to make some laps on the track before NASCAR will approve him as a relief driver due to his rookie status.

If Keselowski gets the practice time in he will stand by to drive the car on Sunday depending on how Earnhardt feels then.

    67. I became a fan many many years ago. Back them I was a die hard Richard Petty fan.Went to his final race at Charlotte and for many yrs just became a fan for whoever drove his cars. Didn’t matter the driver,it was owned by the King. Then I had to finally decide I needed a driver of my own. So Dale Jr came along. Sorry to ya’ll who were a Sr. fan..I was not a fan of Sr. But I saw and still see something in Jr that I only see in one other driver out there. (YUP MARK MARTIN) I don’t base my fav’s on a car make. I base it on a driver. And what I feel coming from him. Dale Jr loves racing! Period. He has a soul of a racer.Win or lose he loves to race. He does it fair. Does not want to wreck anyone. Just want’s to race and be his own man. I wish people would stop harping on who his daddy is. Yes Dale Sr was a great driver. But he is gone now.And Jr is here. He should not be judged by his daddy anymore than Dale Jarrett,Kyle Petty or any other father and son combo. They are not their dad’s. They are themselves and the pressure that get’s put on them is not fair. Let it go and let Dale Jr become his own self,and not his dad’s image. Two diff styles of racing people. And Dale is a awesome driver and also a great person in his own right.Let him love the sport,enjoy his fans and drive. I will be a Dale Jr fan until he is no longer racing.And as far as i’m concerned Nascar is my sport !
