“Dale Jr – Shifting Gears” will follow Junior as he makes the transition from DEI to Hendrick Motorsports. Camera crews follow the driver as he goes throug a typical day in the life of Dale Earnhardt Jr.

The show is set to debut on Feb. 8 at 7 pm ET on ESPN2, with 3 shows set to air before the 50^th running of the Daytona 500. The final 2 episodes will air later in the summer closer to the tme NASCAR returns to Daytona for the July race.

Hammerhead Productions – the production company that Dale Jr owns – is producing the show for ESPN. The guys at Hammerhead were working on a DVD about Junior when they hit upon the idea of a reality show.

The show will also include interviews with Dale Jr fans and friends who give their thoughgts on Junior’s latest career move.

Follow Dale Jr as he helps design the paint schemes and firesuits for his new sponsors.

There is no official word yet if the show will be available on DVD later, but you can almost count on it.
