When Dale Earnhardt Jr talks about
the "Dirty Mo Posse" he's referring to the close-knit
group of friends from his hometown -- Mooresville, North
Carolina.
If you want to visit Mooresville just head up I-77
about 25 miles north of Charlotte near the shores of
Lake Norman.
In a CNNMoney.com poll Mooresville was named 1 of the
Top 100 Best Places to Live. The town of 23,000 people
was ranked 65.

Mooresville is home to the NASCAR Cup teams
of Dale Earnhardt Inc, Penske Racing South,
Robert Yates Racing, and Team Red Bull Racing.
The Busch shops of JR Motorsports, Dale Jr's
team, plus Roush Racing, Fitz Motorsports, Team
Rensi and Braun Racing are also located here.

CNBC rated Mooresville No. 5 in the state for
business due to it's 2 main industries; tourism and
racing. With more than 60 professional race shops and
racing-related businesses located in Mooresville the
racing industry draws the tourism industry.
In downtown Mooresville the town retains a historic
charm, with many of the 1800's era buildings preserved
and in use today.
If you go downtown be sure to visit the D.E. Turner &
Co. Hardware Store building. The inside of the building
hasn't changed since it was built in 1899.
For $14 you can enjoy a round of golf on the Town of
Mooresville Golf Course, and you may bump into some
racers while you're there.
For groups who want to combine race shop tours with
business meetings the Charles Mack Citizen Center, with
seating for 235, is available for rental. The site is
perfect for business meetings, luncheons and as a base
for corporate hospitality during your visit to
Mooresville.

Race fans will want to visit the North
Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame, which serves
as Mooresville's official visitor's center.
There you'll find Curtis Turner's "Purple Hog,"
a 1956 Ford NASCAR race car, and Alan Kulwicki's
1992 Championship winning No.7 Ford on display.

Mooresville is home to the NASCAR Technical
Institute, a school and training ground for aspiring
NASCAR crew chief's, fabricators, engine and chassis
specialists and pit crew members. There students can
prepare for a career with a NASCAR team.
Fox broadcaster and former NASCAR crew chief Jeff
Hammond owns PIT Instruction & Training in Mooresville.
The facility is specifically for the training of NASCAR
over-the wall crew members who change the tires and fuel
the cars on race day.
The school helps qualified graduates find a job in
racing, and many of the top teams actively recruit
there.
The city is also corporate headquarters for Lowes
Home Improvement Warehouse.
Mooresville is a growing city, with over 800 new
residents moving in each year for jobs in the
motorsports industry, corporate jobs at firms like
Lowes, or just for relaxing lakefront living on Lake
Norman.
This town is a must see for any race fan, especially
if you are an Earnhardt fan.
