finishing Elliott Sadler.
Joe Nemecheck and Mark Green looked to have the cars
to beat, combining to lead 149 of 200 laps. But Junior
was fast when it counted -- he led just 6 laps including
the final 1.
The win paid Dale Jr $66,075.
1998 MBNA Platinum 200

Dover Downs International Speedway, Dover, DE
Rookie Dale Earnhardt Jr turned in a race winning
performance in the MBNA Platinum 200, leading 88 of 200
laps on the way to his 2nd Busch victory.
Dale Jr finished 4.022 seconds ahead of 2nd place
driver Bobby Hillin Jr.
The win paid Earnhardt $34,075.
1998 DieHard 250

Total domination is the only way to describe Dale
Earnhardt Jr's win in the DieHard 250 -- Junior led all
but 42 of the 250 laps raced.
At the finish line he was over 5 seconds ahead of 2nd
place finishing Elton Sawyer.
Dale Jr scored a $39,625 payday for the win.

Here's another race where Dale Jr stole the show --
he led 141 of 150 laps. He started the race from the
outside front row, grabbed the lead early, and never
looked back.
Junior finished more than 6 seconds ahead of the 2nd
place car of Kevin Lepage.
As the winning driver Earnhardt earned $68,175 in
prize money for the win.
1998 Kroger 200

Indianapolis Raceway Park, Clermont, IN
The Kroger 200 would mark Dale Earnhardt Jr's 3rd win
during the month of July, 1998.
Junior started the race from 16th position and drove
to the front. He led the most laps that day -- a race
high 63. He beat 2nd place driver Elliott Sadler to the
checkered flag by 1.468 seconds.
The race paid $34,225 to win.
1998 Autolite Platinum 250
September 11, 1998
Richmond International Raceway, Richmond, VA
After leading 236 of 250 laps Dale Earnhardt Jr
cruised to victory in the Autolite Platinum 250. His
margin of victory over 2nd place Jeff Burton was 3.453
seconds.
Junior started the race from the front row in 2nd
position, but it didn't take him long to lead.
The race paid Junior $35,600 to win.
1998 CarQuest Auto Parts 250

Dale Earnhardt Jr scored his final win of 1998 in the
CarQuest Auto Parts 250. Matt Kenseth -- who Dale Jr was
locked into a heated points battle for the championship
finished 2nd.
With just 3 races remaining Kenseth trailed Earnhardt
Jr in the points standings by 102.
The margin of victory was 3.254 seconds, with the win
paying Dale Jr $48,525.
By the end of the season Junior would win the
championship by 48 points.
1999 MBNA Platinum 200

This win would mark the beginning of a June hot
streak. It was the 1st of 3 wins in a row during the
month.
Dale Jr started 15th, but that didn't stop him from
leading 112 laps -- a race high.
Junior battled Ward Burton for the win , but in the
end it was Dale Jr by .457 seconds ahead of Burton.

Dale Earnhardt Jr started from the pole with a
fastest-lap qualifying speed of 92.575 mph, but Dick
Trickle had the fastest car at 1 point in the race,
leading 127 laps. But when he had problems Dale Jr was
there.
Junior went on to lead 70 laps and capture the win
while Trickle finished 21st, 5 laps off the pace.
This was Earnhardt's 2nd consecutive win. His
earnings for the race were $36,300.

Dale Earnhardt Jr captured his 3rd consecutive win --
and his 1st on a road course -- at Watkins Glen in June
1999.
He qualified the No. 3 Chevrolet 3rd, and the track
position allowed him to keep the leaders in sight -- but
he only led 2 laps during the race. 1 of them was the
final on lap.
He finished 1.110 seconds ahead of road course
specialist Ron Fellows.
The win paid Junior $37,800.
1999 Carquest Auto Parts 250

For the 2nd year in a row Dale Earnhardt Jr won at
Gateway. After qualifying 18th he led the most laps at
59 and finished .680 seconds ahead of the 2nd place car
of Randy LaJoie.
The win paid Earnhardt $51,775 and put him just 11
points into the lead in the championship standings over
Matt Kenseth who finished 6th.
1999 NAPA 200
August 21, 1999
Michigan Speedway, Brooklyn, MI
Dale Jr started 3rd and led 69 of 100 laps on the way
to a win at the 2 mile Michigan Speedway.
He finished 3.424 seconds ahead of 2nd place Jeff
Gordon.
The win paid $43,650, and allowed Junior to stretch
out his points lead to 89 over Matt Kenseth.
1999 Autolite Platinum 250

Dale Earnhardt Jr climbed from a 20th place start to
win the Autolite Platinum 250 -- after leading only 8
laps.
He would finish just .548 seconds ahead of Mark
Martin who led the most laps of the race at 77.
Dale Jr earned $35,950 in prize money for the 1st
place finish.
The win would put him 103 points ahead of Matt
Kenseth in the championship standings -- a lead he would
hold on to, winning his 2nd consecutive Busch title by
the end of the season.
2002 EAS / GNC Live Well 300

Dale Earnhardt Jr had competed in only 1 Busch race
since winning the championship in 1999, but when he
returned to Daytona in 2002 for the opening race of the
year he was ready for business.
He would be driving the No. 3 Chevrolet owned by
Richard Childress, and sponsored by Oreo.
Junior qualified 4th and led 59 of the race's 120
laps -- and collecting 5 bonus points for leading the
most laps.
Michael Waltrip finished 2nd -- right on Junior's
bumper. The margin of victory was .162 seconds.
His winning performance earned Junior $77,775.
2002 Funai 250

Richmond International Raceway, Richmond, VA
The Funai 250 would mark Dale Jr's 2nd Busch win of
the 2002 season. Not bad considering he only entered 3
races all year.
This time he was driving the No. 8 Chevrolet owned by
Dale Earnhardt, Inc., and sponsored by Warner Bros.
Earnhardt led 190 of 250 laps after starting on the
pole.
His winnings for the race were $19,850.
2003 Koolerz 300
February 15, 2003
Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, FL
Dale Earnhardt Jr entered only 3 Busch events in 2003
-- he won all 3 races.
In the 1st race of the season at Daytona he drove
DEI's No. 8 Chevrolet sponsored by Oreo and Ritz.
Junior qualified 2nd and led 67 circuits around the
high banked speedway on his way to the win.
As the laps dwindled down Dale Jr continued to hold
off the 2nd place car of Matt Kenseth when the yellow
flag flew. Junior cruised to victory at 70 mph drafting
the pace car under caution.
The race paid Earnhardt $89,625 to win.
2003 Aaron's 312
April 5, 2003
Talladega Superspeedway, Talladega, AL
Once again Earnhardt proved his dominance at
restrictor plate racing by capturing the win at
Talladega.
Dale Jr started inside on the 2nd row and quickly
moved his No. 8 Chevy to the front, where he would lead
for 60 of the race's 117 laps.
Junior finished the race nearly out of gas when he
lost fuel pressure on the white flag lap. Lucky for
Junior, the race was under it's final caution and he was
able to keep his car rolling to the finish line just
ahead of Joe Nemecheck.
He won $39,275 in prize money for the 1st place
finish.
2003 Winn-Dixie 250
July 4, 2003
Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, FL
When the Busch series returned to Daytona it would be
Dale Jr once again in victory lane. Starting from the
pole Earnhardt led flag to flag -- 100 of 100 laps.
Michael Waltrip finished 2nd, just .161 behind Dale
Jr.
In a unique deal Dale Jr sponsored his own car -- JR
Motorsports the primary sponsor, along with Action
Performance, the maker of Junior's diecast cars.
The win paid Dale Jr $72,725 -- no word if that was
enough to pay his sponsorship deal.
2004 Hershey's Kisses 300
February 14, 2004
Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, FL
It took Dale Earnhardt Jr 3 days to win the Hershey's
Kisses 300. The race was halted for rain on Saturday
after just 31 laps -- and did not resume until Monday.
During the red flag Dale Jr won the Daytona 500.
Junior started the race from 8th and led for 47 laps,
the most of any driver. When the race was over he held a
.135 second lead over 2nd place Johnny Sauter.
His winnings for the race came to $96,210.
2004 Food City 250
August 27, 2004
Bristol Motor Speedway, Bristol, TN
Just like at Daytona, Dale Earnhardt Jr swept
Bristol, winning both the Busch and Nextel Cup races on
the same weekend.
Junior started from the pole and led 125 of 256 laps
on his way to victory lane. He beat Matt Kenseth to the
finish line by just 1/10th of a second.
The win paid Dale Jr $42,015.
2006 Winn-Dixie 250
June 30, 2006
Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, FL
Once again Dale Earnhardt Jr showed his mastery of
Daytona by leading 88 of 106 laps after starting 9th on
his way to winning the Winn-Dixie 250.
Junior held off Brian Vickers for a .154 second
victory margin on the final lap.
His winnings for the race came to $84,200.
2006 Carfax 250
August 19, 2006
Michigan International Speedway, Brooklyn, MI
In a controversial finish Dale Earnhardt Jr won the
Carfax 250 after leading just 10 laps of the 250 lap
event..
Carl Edwards was leading as the race headed into the
final laps when Dale Jr bumped Edwards while attempting
to pass. Edwards went for a spin -- while Junior
collected the win.
Then, on the cool down lap after the race Edwards
drove his car off pit road and slammed into the side of
Junior's car. Junior had his hand out the window
catching some air and waving at the fans, and Edwards
nearly took it off.
Later, while Junior was celebrating in victory lane
Edwards angrily confronted him again. Edwards was fined
by NASCAR for his actions.
Dale Jr collected $40,675 in prize money for the win.
