I was not the nascar fan then that I am now, but do know while he was controversial, he was DAMN good at what he did. I know it is a rough time for the Earnhardt’s’ , my thoughts & prayers go out to them. He was not just patriarch of the Earnhardt family. To some of us fans and the Nascar family he was a leader one that will forever be remembered as one f the Sports GREATEST!!!!!

Dale was “Mr. NASCAR”.The racing world lost the best. Since his death, the sport has nothing but grown worldwide because of him. He sure was my idol and I miss him so very, very much and when I see Dale Jr. drive, his father is in that car with him.

Yes, Dale Sr was one of a kind, a legend. He helped take racing to where it is today. I just feel so sorry for Jr because he can’t run his own Daddy’s company. I fee sure that if Sr were alive you would see adifferent, happier Jr. Theresa did those children wrong and Sr is probally rolling over in his grave, to see how she has messed up DEI and his family. We will always miss Dale Sr.

Come on Earnhardt folks………did you see the Daytona 500 this past Sunday? If so, and if you watched it to the end you saw Dale Jr. knock and bump his way to the front…………….THAT WAS THE EARNHARDT DNA BLOOD. Yes, Dale Jr. can win races if he really wants to and it showed Sunday when he went from 16 to 2nd in a flash………………..we were all shocked! However, I wasn’t because I know if Dale Jr. really wants it he can do it…………..just like his Dad. By the way, I honestly believe Dale Jr. bumped his way to the front when he heard Jamie McMurray was leading. Why? Because Dale Jr. loves and thrives to make and see people happy and he planned to cover for Jamie MdcMurray. Our boy can do it, trust me.

    [Reply]

    Maureen Reply:

Jamie McMurray was down and out; sold his home and everything. I believe Dale Jr. helped get McMurray the job to drive this year for Earnhardt and Ganassi. That win meant the world to/for Jamie McMurray; he needed it desperately. Junior is a wealthy man and very comfortable and secure these days……………just look in his eyes and you can see.

    Mark Reply:

You are absolutely right on this. That was the talent of Dale Sr showing up in his son. Dale Jr has this in him and I believe this will be his year to show it.

    Thelma Reply:

I agree 100% He is his fathers son. He is a great driver and I know his misses Sr. We all do . I would love to see Sr in the black 3 again.

Yoday is also my birthday and I was a big Dale fan, and still am. But I have not celebrated with a birthday cake in 9 years on my birthday, I just cant do it i was taking a bite of cake when it was announced he was gone and my birthdays have not been the same. Dale we miss you, and racing has never been the same.

I am a Dale Jr. fan now, he has a lot of his dad in him. In Dale Sr.’s honor I will take a moment of silence today to pray for his family and remember his as he was.

I am sure he would hate how it is running now with all
these new changes. Hopefully this year will be better than
it been the last couple of years.

  24. Daytona hurts my heart every year since Dale died. I ache for what Jr must go through every time he returns to that track. I have a static sticker for Dale Earnhardt Day on my car that I’ve had since his birthday in ’01. I have moved it to each car I’ve bought since he died. Now, it is peeling up and gradually falling apart, but the name and date are still there. I truly hope that it will make it till the 10th anniversary!!! It’s right above my gas cap and I remember him every time I fill up. I had a “3″ tattooed on the inside of my right arm immediately after the Atlanta race, when Kevin Harvick won in Dale’s car, the third race after he died. I had been thinking about a tattoo for a while, but never could decide on one that I thought I would want to live with forever. As soon as Harvick won, I knew, without a doubt, and went straight to the tattoo parlor. I’ve never regretted it, not one day! FOREVER THE MAN, FOREVER A FAN–NO3C88GO

there will never be another Dale Earnhardt and
I’m good with that cause I don’t want anybody to
ever replace him and couldn’t if they tried!!
I will be a Dale Jr fan till the end of time….
and I pray in time it will get easier for the Earnhardt
    Family and Fans!!
    Rest In Peace Dale #3

  28. The day Dale Earnhardt died was a sad day for the entire Nascar Nation. At all the races you see fans still wearing the #3 shirts, hats and jackets. He will never beWith forgotten. An what a tremendous loss for the Earnhardt family, especially Jr. His dad was his idol, and people need to realize he is not his dad. Dale Sr. cared a lot for Jr. and sadly they were beginning to bond, when this tragedy happened. We miss you Dale, RIP., and stay strong JR., your fans love you.

  30. Helen and Carole, you have said everything I wanted to say. I still have all of his collectibles, and on the first” Race of the Year DAYTONA 500,” I put his and Dale Jr. standups in my TV room. It still makes me cry when I look at the lifesize standup, and Jr. standing next to him, but I will probably never stop remembering him in that way. I just hope that Dale Jr, realizes that we love him as much as his “daddy”!!! What a awesome ending to the Daytona 500 this year, and yes, it did remind me of Dale, Sr. seeing him bumping his way to the front. AWESOME! FANTASTIC! REMARKABLE. Keep that head up high Jr. you have to know we will always br ROOTIN for you just like we did Dale Earnhardt, Sr.

  32. This “ole Goldie” has been around the tracks for many years, I think I have seen the best of drivers, from the 40′s, 50′s, 6o’s and right on up to the present time, but I have never seen one that can outdo Dale when it comes to being a master at getting the job done and with it providing as much excitement as he did. When I am sizing up any new driver, I always seem to want to compare them with Dale. That may not be a fair way, but when you’ve seen the best, what other comparison is there? God be with you, Dale, we can never forget you.

  34. I was fortunate enough to get to meet Dale many times. He could surely intimidate you if you would let him, he was bigger than life, and one of the nicest, most kind people I have ever met, there are no words to really describe him, what you saw on the race track was not really Dale at times, yes he wanted to win above everything but on the other hand he was a very, very tender hearted man. When I get to thinking about him or see something on tv, it still makes me cry a lot, I will always miss him, but will also know he was the BEST and GREATEST race car driver that will ever be. My love goes out to Dale, Jr., Kelley, Kerry and Taylor!!!!!

    mamadew88 Reply:

Hey Judy, I have always driven a Chevrolet. number one, my Dad would not drive any other as he believed they were “junk”! He always drove one and I admired my Dad for his values in life. Dale Sr. reminded me of my own father and when he passed that was the saddest day in my life. I too drive a MONTE CARLO SS and my plates read “NY 88-31-VRM” I look at Jr. as my own family as I have never missed any race of his and now my grandson is right there beside me cheering “HIS” driver on…….GO JUNIOR – WE LOVE YOU HERE IN NY.

  44. I certainly agree with the above sentiments.

BUT. My heart aches his children.

Jr. should be racing with the company that his Daddy worked so hard to build.

I know that Sr. is Very Uhappy with Teresa as she sure did his kid’s ‘wrong.’

YET. Judgement Day will come and she will have to answer to Our Creator.

    Missing Sr.

Now, I will go and play some pool with my black “3″ ball and my 88 cue ball. I’d love to play a race to 5 against Jr on his pool table…..anytime! Hey Junebug, let me give you some free lessons on the game of “8″ ball. They are worth exactly what you’ll pay for them. And life goes on……….
