Dale Earnhardt Jr’s dogs, cats and buffalo

NASCAR drivers are notorious pet lovers – and Dale Earnhardt Jr is no exception. Junior has at least 8 animals that he calls pets.

Killer the Boxer: There’s Killer, a 70 pound Boxer that loves to ride in the car with Junior. Killer always demands the front seat and wants to go everywhere Dale Jr goes. This dog is the son of Foster, Greg Biffle’s dog. Killer likes to chase cats when he’s not sleeping.

Buddy the cat: Buddy found Dale Jr in a New Hampshire pet store back in 2000. It seems Junior stopped at the mall following the race and left with Buddy in tow. Buddy spent 3 years on the road crew traveling with Junior and the race team. These days Buddy stays home in North Carolina.

Stroker Ace the Great Dane: Stroker is a one year old Great Dane with Champion bloodlines. He’s named after fictional race car driver “Stroker Ace,” who was played by Burt Reynolds in the 1983 movie by the same name. Dale Jr once ran a Busch race at Daytona with Stroker Ace on the car where his name usually goes.

Tux the cat: Tux is a black and white Maine Coon cat that Dale Jr and Sister Kelley discovered in a Mooresville, NC pet shop during a shopping trip to buy tropical fish. Tux is a big cat – 15 pounds – and very playful.

Laverne and Shirley the buffalo: Junior received the pair of buffalo as a gift and named them after the girls on the 70’s TV show Laverne and Shirley. They are somewhat highly strung and territorial, and demand to be fed before the Texas Longhorns they share the property with.

Lindy Lou, Dance ’til Dawn and Shadows Tiger Lily the Longhorns: Dale Jr acquired 3 Texas Longhorns last year. The 3 massive cows, which can tip the scales at 2,000 pounds each, roam the property at Junior’s house alongside the buffalo. The horns on a Longhorn can grow 6 to 9 feet.

Dale is my favorite driver, and I am very happy to see that he likes animals. I do also. This world would be a very dull place without them. Most of the cats and the dog I have were rescued.

I would really like to meet him. My mother who is 88 would also like to meet him. He is her favorite driver also.

i like dale jr i have been a fan every since he has started in nascar it has always been my dream to meet and greet jr he is so awesome and i am so glad he is such an animal lover we need more ppl like that in the world

Dale Jr. is my Favorite Driver. I will be at the Coke 0 400 at Daytona Speedway this weekend. I`m hoping to get his Autograph. I live here in Daytona and this will be my first Race.I love his pets names.

My name is Jerry, things that I have heard,read about you make me feel good, not to many people are like that.You race hard thats cool,speake your mind, love it, do what you want yee ha live life with gusto today is life.Hearing that you love animals,the story of you having Buddy Love at the race track and someone let him out,you found him luckly then he was not aloud to travel with you, that sucked but proud of you for keeping him home after that. This is when I realized you truely loved your mules,this is why hopefully you will understand that I build things for my animals to make them happy.Making them tunnels, cages,towers,beds,hammocks,toys,other things all with the utmost in saftey is very important.One or more of these items I would like to patent and sell giving most of the money to animal shelters and helping all animals wild and domesticated, One idea is in my mind and I have built that will make many animals very happy and there owners and I DO NOT WANT SOME BIG COMPANY STEALING IT MAKING A BIG PROFIT,Hopefully you understand, sure I want to make enough money to live but with your help you could have an investment also helping tons of animals thru donations and making lots of animals happy with the idea that Ihave made.If you want to see the product I dont want to disclose it over the inetrnet.If your interested please contact me at my email adress.Never done this before had to try something new.Thank you for your time go fast, kick ass, good luck this year and every year,whip um good.

I think it is great! I have always fed strays. At one time I had 15 stray cats I fed and loved. I just wish I had the money to fix them so they didnt produce more strays. I like that Jr is an animal lover as well. We need more people with the means… to support animal causes. Go Jr you have my support on the track and with your love of animals!! 2010 will be a great year for you!
