Dale Earnhardt Jr’s Favorite YouTube Video
July 27th, 2008 | by RacingWin |Dale Earnhardt Jr earned a spot in the 1999 IROC Race by winning the NASCAR Busch Championship the year before.
He would race against other racing champions, including his father, Dale Earnhardt.
Junior was driving the red Pontiac Firebird — his father a blue Firebird.
It was a race that he finished second in — but Dale Jr said he thought he had the race won.
Junior seemed to have the 1999 IROC Race at Michigan won, but lost at the line by .007 seconds to his father. It’s one of the closest finishes in IROC history.
I’ve watched it more than once, and each time it looks like Dale Jr will pull out the win — he was oh so close.
Dale Earnhardt was leading with 3 to go, with Junior on his bumper. Dale Jr waited until the last lap to make his move, and the 2 cars touched coming to the finish line.
Does it look to you like he had this race won?

boy , do true nascar fans really miss you sr. You really gave us all something to remember for the rest of our lives. That was a great look at the orignator of the side draft. What a great race……Go jr. nation

They really were having a blast out there!!! That is truely brings chills to me!!!
We all sure miss Earnhardt!! He was awesome!!!
And it always great to see Jr. and him having such a great time! I miss that!!

I always looked foward to the day I could see the #3 and the #8 finish 1st and 2nd side by side. It didn’t really matter who wins. I never got to see it in a NASCAR race. I understand why this is JR’s favorite vid, mine too. You go Jr. Your dad is proud of you as we all are.

Every time I watch Dale Sr race it makes me miss him more every time. When I see the races every week it is not the same without Dale, and it will never change no matter how many years pass by. I can watch the old races over and over and still get excited like he was still here. There will never be another Dale.

Junior is just where he wants to be. Dale Jr. is very comfortable knowing his Dad was the greatest, toughest and roughest out there. Trust me, Jr. is very happy and pleased just to be in the “top 5″ of the NASCAR drivers. One thing his Dad never had that Jr. does have and that is…………really good looks……..Jr. is as good-lookin’ and handsome as they come. Dale Jr. is very fortunate. The heavens and all our Angels adore that boy. I know I always want the best for Jr. and hope he will marry the right girl someday; so far he seems to be very intelligent when it comes to his girlfriends……………thank you Jesus!

I was at that Michigan Race. And it was great. I do believe that was the year Kerry Earnhardt won the ARCA Race. Anyway, anything with the Earnhardt’s in it is awsome……….Michigan Fan…………….
