Dale Earnhardt Jr Named to SI Fortunate 50 List

Sports Illustrated has released its Fortunate 50 List – The sporting equivalent of the Fortune 500.

Dale Earnhardt Jr ranks 11th on this year’s list. He is the highest earning NASCAR driver.

Earnhardt’s earnings were $26,611,290 in 2009 according to the article. Most of that came from endorsement contracts, and not from his Hendrick Motorsports salary or NASCAR winnings.

What do you think about that? Not bad for a kid from Kannapolis who used to be an oil change tech at the local Chevy dealership, is it?

    ONE I am not nieve or stupid!!! I am a Dale Jr. fan always have been and always will!! When he was young and just starting his name helped him alot it was because of his Dad, but if his sponor’s didnt see the sale’s go up of anything they would drop him and go to someone else that would help make a lot of money for them no matter what there name was. It’s all about business,always has been and always will be. And Jr.’s Face sell’s !!! What about Budwiser they said that there sales were good with Kanne but not like it was with Dale Jr… everything went up, every year he was with them. They would of gone with Jr. but there contract had 1 more yr to go with DEI.. plus Hendrick did not want Budwiser on his cars.. THIS IS REALITY…..His face on anything SELL’S..there is a new generation out there and some never knew Dale Sr. or saw him race. And thats sad..but Dale Jr. is what sell’s and it’s Jr. Nation that buy’s.
