Dale Earnhardt Jr Tops All Drivers at Bristol

Here’s some good news for Junior Nation. Dale Earnhardt Jr. has scored more points in the last 10 Bristol  races than anyone else. He leads 2nd place Kevin Harvick by 50 points.

“Bristol is one of the more exciting stops,” said Dale Earnhardt Jr. It is a great racetrack. I have seen a lot of neat races there, and been involved in a few of them.”

Junior has led 743 laps at the high-banked half-mile track.

Over his entire Cup career he has completed 8,862 laps out of a total of 9,010 – that’s over 98%.

Dale Jr. will be driving a brand new race car at Bristol Sunday — Hendrick Motorsports chassis 88-526. The car has never turned a lap on a racetrack in testing or in a race.

Tony Eury Jr’s biggest concern for Bristol is the inevitable crash. “Lady luck stands a lot in Bristol for the simple fact that you can have a great car, and you’re in lap traffic so much that you can come up on something at any time so it’s a matter of being at the right place at the right time and being lucky and missing the big wreck,” said Earnhardt’s crew chief.

    4. For whatever reason, Jr., I think next year will be your year. You do short tracks well and when I come to Bristol in August I hope to see you win. We have not been going to races like we use to because of the bad calls from NASCAR officials. Last year when they gave the race to Tony Stewart and not Ragan Smith, it ticked so many off that we are still protesting. Also, the rain call in Daytona put a topping on it. Money is no problem whatsoever with any of us. God bless you Jr.

    7. takes it all to win, car , driver, and a lot of luck. your out there with a mix of drivers, some should be set back somewhat, not quite ready for prime time. jr. rattle there cage a little, you can do it, nascar won’t do anything much to you, the fans won’t stand for that. you draw to many fans to the track. like i said before its about money. if you ,gordon, steward, johnson, would get togeather ,you all could put nascar in there place. they are nothing without top drivers to draw a crowd. the stands would get dusty if they just have the bush brothers and a few others to fill the stands .hk

    12. I hope Jr has a great race. Toni Eury, his crew chief needs to give Jr the commands a lot sooner to pit, he lets Jr a lot of the times do the making of the pit stops, he lets him go by the pit road and then tells him that he sould have come in. I hope they can work this out. I am a Jr fan but I am also a Jimmie Johnson fan, so I hope either one wins. granny 67

    13. I am so tired reading about JR. I like the guy, but he is not going anywhere as far as winning races. He is stressed out and makes a lot of mistakes. That is all I have to say about JR.

    You dont know a great driver when you see one. Jr. is great and we are behind him 100%. He is a honest and good young man , always admits when he makes a goof and alot of the other drivers just whine and cry when things dont go their way.You go Jr we love you. Marie

    23. first there is something wrong. I would like to take the the assignment when darrel waltrip made with Dale JR.I feel there is something a miss with the chemisty with his crew and motivation to be a champion. maybe I am wrong but when you want to be on the top friends and respect must come to end.
