From one dr to another, you are so right. If the teams, crews and support staff aren't always thinking about how to better their cars than what's the purpose of calling it racing? Why not just call if "The race of tomorrow"? Nascar has gone politically correct and what a mistake that is.
When my dad built my race car's he didn't wonder what the other drivers were doing so he could do the same. No, he was thinking about what he could do to give me the advantage.
I say give the drivers, crews and companies the okay to build the cars that will win.
P.S. I've always said that bush has been cheating some how.

In the comparison its stated that 43 teams against one (NASCAR) but it isn't so Nascar has the power to control but it all comes down to MONEY. NASCAR has the rules and the personnel to monitor, recommend and change the rules of the game but they are also as the politicians they have advisers, analyst, lawyers that before making a decision analyze the situation and depending on the risk factor they make the decision. Once again comes to $$$$ it's not only giving the spectators and fans what they want is what they can get out of it without affecting their pocket. They do have the means to control.

YES!!!!!!!!! Wouldn,it be greatto watch a RACE!! rather than an orchastrated production. God I loved the days when drivers won based on their hard work, developed knowledge, and wiley crew chiefs.

I will never pay $125 to sit in a seat 13 inches wide to watch a sorry race. NASCAR is trying to suck up all the money.

I love "Creative Rules Interpretation" as long as it doesn't compromise driver safety. Let 'em race and may the best, most creative team win. How do you think they got the cars to run fast and handle in the first place?

Mac, you hit the nail on the head. It amazes me how the 48 is always in the hunt. Makes you wonder what is going in the garage that makes him stay in the top consistently.

I have said many times, it's not the driver being the best everytime he wins, if the car can't go fast enough (barring bad luck), how can the best driver win? Does make you wonder how HE won all those times in a Toyota!!

think on this:
  1. nascar has not defined 'cheating'
quoting smoky..if it ain't in the rule book it must be legal..deciding legality on the spot is not right.
  2. if all cars were to the same spec's then why not let the 10 last place cars that finish inspect the 1st ten. after all they don't even bother telling what make of car wins on the news its all about the driver. tricks would be good for only one race.nascar cares less who wins, all cars must put on a good show.
  3. speaking of drivers it has now gotten to the point being a good driver does not count.. you must be the best looking media diva actor who happens to be able to drive.
   4. lastly we could actually race a 'stock' car, instead of a full race f1 car that looks stock....its a joke, nothing is stock but sheet metal must be?

What are you people smoking. Get a grip on reality. Nobody is rigging races so that Hendricks and the #48 team can win back to back championships. Remember when they got caught cheating and Chad got to spend several race weekends on vacation. Oops, I guess you forgot about that. As far as cheating goes, NASCAR is doing a good job doling out the punishment. If you don't like the way it's going, watch roller derby or wrestling.
